Darj
So, a anti hand-trap hand-trap, huh xDThis is too strong, IMO. If it was a 1-for-1 it would be acceptable, but it's a +1 for you, and most likely that snatched hand trap will be of use of you, putting it you really far ahead. Plus it can be said that OCG is in a hand trap format right now, so this would just bring more chaos to the game. I know it wouldn't exactly the same case with this card, but I cannot but think of what Wavering Eyes did back in the Pendulum-heavy format and it was at full power, where it was so polarizing that the first player to resolve it by destroying 4 scales pretty much won the game; in a similar way, the first player to resolve this card would earn a big advantage and the opponent may not have a chance to recover. Not to mention that, much like Wavering Eyes, an opposing copy can be chained to it, so mind games ensue; or even chain multiple copies, making funny scenarios. Guest BGMCANN0N
So, a anti hand-trap hand-trap, huh xDThis is too strong, IMO. If it was a 1-for-1 it would be acceptable, but it's a +1 for you...Ohh yes.... I can readily admit I've hated getting blasted by Maxx "C", and the likes at times. In my defense of this design, I say it's magnitude ultimately varies on the format and how hand trap heavy your opponents are. If anything this is one of those sides that could end up being dead against someone who doesn't care about running hand traps... I mean I get why OCG is probably more centralized in hand traps... They got better utility in the hand trap department like the 3 Ghost girls, and the game has kind of pushed away back row in favor of consistency and establishing strong stunning boards. And ultimately hand traps are a lot faster than back row options. And maybe the game needs a hand trap that can mess with other hand traps (maybe not of this magnitude though)... I mean hand traps are mostly used because they are hard to hit without baiting, or somehow managing to Solemn Strike them, (or if you are really old school Debunk them). But with due consideration of your opinion: So what if I made it not negate the effect, but just add it to your hand instead? Do you think it would still be usable considering? (Yeah... I kind of care more about the flavor of the card). EDIT: Actually I have an idea and I am revamping the design a little
Darj
Now it got interesting. It is not a +1 anymore and in a way a 1-for-1, although the value can vary depending on what you snatch from the opponent so both players better be wary of this card. I like how in theory it can pretty much punish, and potentially push down or hold back "hand trap formats"; it reminds me of Denko and how it punishes backrow-heavy decks and quickly becomes a meta call whenever backrow formats start to rise; I can see this card having a similar impact as Denko when it comes to hand traps. In short, a really solid card IMO; taking a card from the opponent's hand is a strong effect, but it's heavily reliant on hand-trap decks, while it potentially acts as a sweet check for hand trap formats.Oh, not to mention that it's searchable by ROTA, so it's bound to get better as ROTA moves up & down in the banlist. The Nyx Avatar
Timing may be an issue, but I think you'll usually be able to pull off its effect. It sounds like a great way to toy with your opponent's hand traps. Some targets include Maxx "C", Yuki Usagi (Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit), D.D. Crow, Effect Veiler, and perhaps Honest. I especially like the second effect, as it could help interfere with your opponent's potential plays. And being a Warrior not only allows it to be a target for Reinforcement of the Army, but if you can The Warrior Returning Alive, I guess you could re-use it.
