Darj
Ghostrick SocutebossAttribute: DARKType: Spellcaster/Xyz/EffectRank: 2ATK: 1400DEF: 12002 Level 2 monstersWhile you control another "Ghostrick" monster, your opponent cannot target this card for attacks. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 face-up monster on the field, with ATK less than or equal to the combined ATK of all "Ghostrick" monsters on the field; destroy it, and if you do, that Monster Card Zone cannot be used as long as you control a "Ghostrick" monster. Number 57: Tri-Head Dust DragonAttribute: FIREType: Dragon/Xyz/EffectRank: 4ATK: 100DEF: 26003 Level 4 monstersWhen this card is Special Summoned: You can target 1 monster your opponent controls; this card gains ATK equal to that monster's current ATK. If your opponent controls more cards than you do: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then choose 1 unused Monster Card Zone or Spell & Trap Card Zone; while this face-up card is on the field, that Card Zone cannot be used. Because of the hype on locking Zones and the new mechanics. Grouping them in the same thread since both are about locking Zones.Note how Tri-Head should be able to also lock Pendulum Zones before they are used for a Pendulum. While Socuteboss may or may not be able to lock Extra Monster Zones. Both have generic material requirements, but it will be tricky for Socuteboss to hit a monster with less ATK than it, and in the case of Dust Dragon, 3 Level4s aren't exactly practical to set up. Zauls
57 now essentially locks your opponent out of Pendulum Summoning while its on the field, which is pretty cool. However 3 materials makes it hard to summon and the activation requirement is situational. Your opponent will probably already have their EMZ occupied by the time you get this out, so you won't be blocking that very often. It would otherwise just be a minor inconvenience to anything non-Pendulum related. Socuteboss requires you to play Ghostricks for it to do anything significant, so that invalidates that entirely. Unless a good Rank 2 deck comes out and a Link Monster comes out that has 1400 or less ATK and is widely used, it won't be seeing any more play than it does currently. Plus the fact neither of these cards have any built-in protection makes them very easy to out.
Darj
Well, I remember watching a casual deck that spammed Level2s to make 2 of Socutebosses so they can hit bigger monsters while protecting each other from being attacked, but after Link mechanics you would need 2 linked Zones available so it won't be as practical to set up anymore. notcleverusername
This is broken as hell.PlzStop Note that Socuteboss can be spammed by our other favorite zone-locking deck, the one and only OJAMASIn case you needed even more zone locking
Yemachu
"Zany Zebra" might not be as readibly accessible as those Extra Deck monsters, given it is a Main Deck card, but it is as flexible as Tri-Head Dust Dragon in what it can target. The ability to stop pendulums and disrupt link summons a bit, combined with a decent Pendulum Scale might make it an interesting side option. Thomas★Zero
I have a feeling with cards like this Konami will make a ruling/Errata to say that with effects like these they only apply to Main Monster Zones for the fact we only have 1 Extra Monster Zone in game to use.
