Dad Posted February 21, 2017 Report Share Posted February 21, 2017 So, ya'll may or may not have heard about the fiasco that happened in N.O., Louisiana about two weeks ago, the week of February 7th. http://www.nola.com/weather/index.ssf/2017/02/new_orleans_east_ef3_tornado.html Yeah, that just so happened to be very, very close to my house. Not gonna lie. A jabroni was in here on his knees, ready to die. The house shook bro, for a good 30 seconds. My ears popped, and it was blacker than me outside. I was ready bro. Finally the sheet stopped, and thought I was standing still. I was the one shaking after that. So finally I call moms, let her know I'm aight. Then I take a gander outside. Had to assess the damage. This is mom's house. [spoiler=Mom's House] As you can see, very little damage. Fence got funked up, but minus some debris from other yards and homes, and of course some branches, almost no damage. Thank God for that. Then I took a gander round the hood. Bruh, it's a funking warzone. [spoiler=New Orleans, February 7, 2017] And this is just my block. There's a main road that connects to the hood a bit further east. Up and down that road, entire buildings are missing or in shambles. And NASA, which is just beyond that, took a direct hit. Stores are still funking empty, and there's been very little clean up. It's nuts bro. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Dad Posted February 21, 2017 Author Report Share Posted February 21, 2017 Telling people they don't qualify for temporary food stamps following the recovery effort. My mom, and my neighbor were told they don't qualify. So I guess we all won't be eating after Thursday. #FEMAStrikesAgain Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
~~~~ Posted February 21, 2017 Report Share Posted February 21, 2017 holy funk. The person who was in your house, ready to die, are they ok? I don't really know what else to say, other than offer my sympathy for the difficult situation you and your neighbours are in. I was gonna make a joke about all the potholes in the road, something along the lines of "the tornado really tore that road up" or something, but it feels inappropriate to make jokes in this thread, so I won't. Am I right that it would be inappropriate? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Dad Posted February 22, 2017 Author Report Share Posted February 22, 2017 Tbh, New Orleans roads are notoriously bad. Bruh, I'm wanting to major in Civil Engineering just to get into infrastructure to figure out why the roads have been this bad for this long. Like, we make jokes about the road all the time, so that's nothing. But yeah I mean, it's bad right now. Making jokes about potholes is nothing though. Also, amazingly enough, as far as I know, there were no casualties reported. So that's a big plus. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Wahrheit Posted February 22, 2017 Report Share Posted February 22, 2017 Doesn't the President set FEMA policy? I hope he does something about this. People need to eat. I'm glad you're okay. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
