Tinkerer
Well, I assume these are meant to be used during the Link monster era since there isn't any kind of "Legacy" tag. On the whole, that's good because with the notable lack of hard-OPTs on any of the summoning, this gets to be quite as spammy and splashable as Zoodiacs. For example if you open with Evoker, Evocation Phantom Thief, OR Evocation 1500, you can end with a field of 3 Izanagi and an Arsene without even using a NS. Even counting Links, these guys give way too much bang for their buck as they essentially act as X copies of Instant Fusion, giving you free stuff to be used any way you like, including expanding Link chains, for absolutely no downside whatsoever. Now, mind you, I love the idea, but I really think they need to be reworked. The summoning spells need hard-OPTs to start with and also some other kind of cost. The monsters also need downsides. Izanagi (maybe negate the summoned monster's effects?), and Arsene (possibly make you unable to activate the card you searched?) in particular. Dova
Evoker is simple, short, sweet and to the point. Shame this and the other Evokers aren't generally searchable, but I guess the Yosen(ju) route isn't terrible. And basic Grave searching. Good stuff. Evoker Card? Really? Anywho, returning is missing "to the hand". My only gripe is the last effect specifically saying "Extra Deck". You see, if there ever was a "Persona" monster in the main deck, how would it work with this card? Just say "Deck" or even "hand", and it will work normally. Evoker gets you some basic adding from your Grave, but the LP cost seems a little steep with the HOPT. Choose either or on the first effect, but the last effect seems a tad generic, but perhaps weak. I mean, you are going +0 and probably losing whatever card is in the hand. I would suggest just discarding a Persona/Evocation card to draw. Phantom Thief makes me think this is a pop culture archetype. I vaguely remember a franchise called Persona I think, but sadly do not know anything else, and so cannot comment on flavour :( Interesting tie to a specific monster, reminds me of the Legendary Dragons. And there I see the returning of banished cards, so, nevermind, leave the above card as it is, but...perhaps give it a search instead of a draw? It might need a tiny bit of buffing. Underworld gets you another Fusion, but...this seems weird. Not only is its second effect stronger than its first effect, but the first effect is substantially weaker (relatively speaking) than Phantom Thief's Summoning effect, as it is only SS1 and requires a discard. Other than that, seems fine. 1500 basically doesn't have a cost, especially as these cards can do stuff with banished cards. And discard to search at EP, pretty neat. I'm fine with it stacking, as it only works at the EP and you don't have handtraps. Conjuring is a little more interesting when it comes to laddering, giving a proper relative cost to bring out the higher level monsters. Weird how it has a SS2 Graveyard effect, and I don't think any Normal Spells have a quick Grave effect atm. Effect negation is a nice utility anyway, but best to have a look at that. Power is meh. A generic card like that wouldn't be used, so perhaps Quick-Play? Searchability buffs it a tiny bit I guess, but considering that it doesn't actually buff ATK and still leaves you wide open to effects during the BP, some more power is in order (lol). Perhaps a UTL lingering effect? Matarujaka is decent, I guess, but a bit simple by itself. You could probably get away with an extra 500 ATK, or perhaps buff DEF too. Or just a Graveyard effect. Your call, just don't go too far. Samarecarm seems a little nichey for my tastes. Only when a monster is destroyed, and it only Summons an Xyz monster? Thats two conditions that must be met, not to mention the fact that its a Trap and so inherently slow and vulnerable. Perhaps get it to Summon a monster with a Rank/Level of 4 or lower from the Graveyard, and if it is an Xyz monster you can attach. Enduring Soul is a neat little Foolish Burial target, and seems like a run 1 card of thing, as its only use in regards to its main effect is late game. I personally don't like the effect, but it it certainly is somewhat unique. Megidolaon is basic destruction for its main effect, nothing to add there. It doesn't target, but then again it only destroys face-up cards. It has a weird counter trap except not really effect in the Graveyard, but again I think it's just fine. It can be negated by non-Counter Traps though, so that adds to it being fine. Velvet gets you any other one of the ED cards in exchange for other monsters. I don't think it meshes well with the High-Level ED monsters, which require monsters from your side of the field, and you only have 15 cards in your ED to play around with. But it does prevent bricking I guess, and is searchable by terraforming. Compendium is a simple searcher, and I think combined with the fact that this archetype relies on the ED that this card is fine without OPT, especially as it recycles. Can you explain Soma to me please? The only utility I see is recycling the Person monsters that are banished, but it doesn't even deal with ones in the Graveyard (which could be used for fuel for the other S/T, yes), but the pay off is...you shuffle your hand into your Deck? What? Gonna leave Messiah to the other bosses when I comment on them. Level 4s, then the bosses, then the Rank 4s. Main problem with the Extra Deck cards is they return to the ED whenever they get sent to the Graveyard. How are they going to be used by the Spells that banish outside of the Xyzs? Not to mention you can at most run at most 2 of each Xyz. Back to Arsene, it gives you a search by making you lose field presence in an archetype about field presence. Not your best move, especially with its low stats. You could definitely get away with removing the limitation on the activation at least, and could probably through in a HOPT effect relating more to the archetype's theme. Orpheus gives a battle boost and that is very helpful. 'Nuff said. Thanatos...eh, negating "that card" when you can negate an effect always gets me. I would suggest just making it "negate that card or effect" and then have that extra negation. Except the card kills effect negated cards, so I guess that's a reason to keep it. Glad this one is less generic, as the negation effect is pretty strong, but it does require a Persona to get it out in the first place. Izanagi + 1500 combo is really helpful in my opinion to Thunder Decks for some reason. Dunno if that was intentional, but I guess now you have some main deck monsters to run around these cards. Just use R4 Thunder spam and you can easily get out the Rank 4s of this archetype. I really like this card, actually, especially as it gives you multiple options. I just don't know what your idea was behind the Thunder addition, even though it is Thunder. Look, you're probably only going to run 1 or 2 bosses. Having 2 of each Xyzs is required, and then having 2 of each of the laddering up Fusions as well. Add 1 Thanatos, and you only have 2 spaces for the remaining cards, if you don't run 3 of anything at all. Working with the extra deck really limits splashability, and unless you work really hard at making them all fill seperate niches, you're only going to be running some of them. Even so, there's probably going to be different styles around different niches. The best one is Messiah, with Orpheus Talos losing because of its steep cost, but the rest are just meh for such powerful bosses. I don't see the use of Akira's first effect. You want to leave your Persona's on the field to ladder up into the bosses, and all of your continuous Spells/Traps that stay face-up have no OPT. I don't know what to suggest, but its second effect, while being helpful, is too weak on its own, so you should add another effect. Minato is pretty good and not generic. You do really hit the mark with certain cards. Second effect is perhaps a bit complicated, but the important thing is that it works. Yu is too generic though. Come on, banishing with Soul Drain on banished cards? While not being too farfetched, there is nothing tying it to the archetype, no reason to not run it outside of the archetype. Also, you're not getting much out of it for using 3 Mats. Yes, other decks do this easily, but Person need their Fusions to ladder up, and this card provides no advantage. Why not go into Messiah? Certainly an interesting mechanic you are messing around with, but you can't treat it like a normal archetype. Speed is an issue, but you have to adjust for using only Extra Deck monsters, and that means limiting your monsters so that you can run all of them, and don't make semi-useless cards. To be fair, you have done a pretty good job, with it being mostly a little weak rather than strong, so kudos.
