Pot of Trickery
[Normal Spell]

Look at 3 cards from the top of your Deck, then place them on top of the Deck in any order. During your either player's turn, except the turn this card was sent to the Graveyard, you can banish this card from your Graveyard; excavate the top card of your Deck, and if it is a Spell or Trap Card, except a Counter Trap Card, activate that card, if possible. Otherwise, shuffle it into your Deck. You can only use this effect of "Pot of Trickery" once per turn.

I'm assuming that the same rulings that apply to Diamond Dude also go with this card, but then again, we could get another "because Konami said so" moment and this doesn't ignore costs. Activation requirements, maybe not.

At the very least, it lets you see if you'll end up getting dead draws and change things around if you need to, so that helps. Come to think of it, SPYRALs might like this so they can stop guessing at what they need to declare for stuff, or stuff for Reversal Quiz OTK [going into the gimmicky end here, but yeah]. Concerning the activation stuff, yeah, if it does work like Diamond Dude, then it's a better version. But otherwise, I don't think certain activation requirements can be bypassed.

Ok, just asking for clarification before I give proper CnC. Is this meant to be able to ignore costs? (E.g. Destiny Draw) What about activation requirements? (E.g. Mirror Force)

As what Sakura, said. Yes, it doesn't bypass cost, and conditions like Diamond Dude does... Wasn't exactly sure how to word it to get my point across. So I added the "... if possible." part in hopes that it would mitigate confusion... And apparently it kind of didn't... So if there is a way better way to specify that it doesn't ignore the cost and conditions, by all means, shoot your wording at me.

As for the Mirror Force e.g. , it shouldn't activate be able to activate... Though it does make me kind of question whether it should be enabled if your opponent does declare an attack, and you activate this in response to excavate Mirror... I think I want to allow that at least.

As for what I am going for, is basically to make almost any Spell/Trap that you excavate into a Quick-Play that you can use on either player's turn.

Well, no.

It activates the card itself, not its effect. If you activate the card, you have to pay its cost. If you just activated the effect, it would bypass cost and conditions, essentially turning Mirror Force into Raigeki.

If you want it to do what you said:

"excavate the top card of your Deck, and if it is a Spell or Trap Card, activate its effect(s), if possible".

As for your wording, then would that one bypass the cost? I don't want it to bypass cost (as it may essentially be too problematic with certain cards), I just want it to activate the card given the correct conditions. Not sure how it would work with stuff like Counter Traps though ... Probably should exclude them... Otherwise, the card maybe  controversial and arise too many questions to be feasible for the game's state.

My wording bypasses cost and conditions. Your wording doesn't, but it also leaves you at the mercy of the activated card's Spell Speed, meaning that a lot of older Normal Spells will just fail to activate whatsoever.

Yu-Gi-Oh is a confusing mess of a game once you get down to some of the pretty awkward rulings.
