If this card destroys a monster as a result of battle while its co-linked to a Link monster you control, inflict damage equal to the ATK of the destroyed monster. Increase this cards ATK by 500 for each Monster in a zone this card points to. ATK/1500 LINK-2 So Captain Hawk acts as a Left Right Link Monster that benefits from being summoned in a zone that your current Link Monsters point to and gets more abilities while in a co link. While being a generic 2 material monster a lot of decks have general use for it plus being a HERO can also add to HERO decks that use other link monsters like Link Spider (if using Scapegoat or E-HERO Avian to summon it.) I find a bit funny how you mixed up outdated text/OCG with the new Link-related text.If this is a reference to Capt. Falcon, wouldn't FIRE be a more appropriate attribute for it? Now... this is a generic Link2 monster that can reach 2500 ATK with its own effect, attack twice and burn if it's in a co-linked state. We are speaking of a lot of damage right there, and easily accessible, too. Can't say I'm comfortable with that because it can potentially take so many games. I cannot but compare it with Hi-Speedroid Chanbara, which also attacks twice and increases its own ATK but... it doesn't have a Flame Wingman burn nor, as a Syncrho, is as accesible as this guy. Arimetal Posted August 3, 2017 Report Share Posted August 3, 2017 It's a nice alt to our current Proxy Dragon but as a HERO it doesn't help the archetype almost at all. Besides being a Mask Change target and that call out to Flame Wingman, it doesn't even have any connection to any current HERO support. Yet I digress. It requires you to Link Summon twice prior to this and there is no 1 card combo that comes to mind that would allow you to set this up. It's iffy but can definitely do something. I don't expect it to be a game changer and I wish it did something to support Fusions 1 way or another. Best use of this card I can think of is Gofu SummonSummon 2 TokensToken -> SpiderGofu + Token -> ProxyVenusShine Ball x33x Shine Ball -> Cyberse Accel (Mutual Link to Proxy)Venus + Spider -> Captain Hawk (Mutual Link to Cyberse Accel) 2 card combo for a virtual 4k double attacking Flame Wingman. If Norden was still legal you could instant and make Fire Wall or Varrel Load... that'd be nice. This is all situational though. Summed up it feels out of place in the HERO Archetype. It has possibilities but nothing too relevant or game changing. The lack of protection or additional effect just makes it a Link-Styled beater that can only actually achieve 2500 by itself. Gofu on its own can make Spider + Hawk, and the 4 fodder that Venus provides plus the Spider can be used to fill the Link Zones of Hawk and co-link with it.
