Eshai
If you don't know, Assault Mode Activate is a pretty random Trap card that came out as Konami's first attempt at doing weird things for Synchro Monsters, Of course it didn't really work out so well, but that's probably because it was a Trap, a -1 in card advantage, and any "/Assault Mode" monster you draw would be dead in your hand since Assault Mode can only Special Summon the upgraded versions from the Deck. These are ultimately easy problems to fix and with the invention of Link Format and the monopolization of Extra Deck zones, getting them sent to the GY to be replaced by better versions of themselves that don't take up Extra Deck space becomes pretty appealing. Argonaut's Assault ModeNormal - SpellThis card's name becomes "Assault Mode Activate" while on the field or in your GY. Tribute 1 Synchro Monster: Special Summon 1 "/Assault Mode" monster whose name includes the Tributed monster's name from your hand, Deck, or GY. If a “/Assault Mode” monster you control is destroyed by battle or card effect and sent to the GY: You can banish this card from your GY to Special Summon the Synchro monster Tributed to activate this card's effect. I changed what needed to be changed::Now a Normal Spell, so it can be activated on the turn you Synchro Summon. Now can Special Summon the Assault Mode from your hand, Deck, or GY, so you only have to run 1 of the Assault Mode monsters for each Synchro MonsterWould rather the recovery effect on the Assault Mode monsters be on the Assault Mode card from now on, so that we don't have to write the same recovery effect on every single Assault Mode monster. At this moment, any of the previous Assault Mode monsters can also Special Summon their counterparts from the GY back, but to me that doesn't really matter since Stardust Dragon (and maybe Arcanite) are the only useful ones. You could probably make other versions of Assault Mode Activate. It could probably be compared to a form of Ritual Summon that requires specific targets similar to how Fusions work. I'm working on an archetype with its own Assault Mode card as well, so I'd rather get as much feedback as I can here. This was really only a bundle of concepts my 1 AM self put together. Any comments of constructive criticism are appreciated. Have a good day.
The Highlander
You would fix the main issues (though I suggest making it a normal spell, so the original retains battle phase shenaningans and so that you can safely always treat it as Assault Mode Activate, so beast can search it. Eshai
It was rather allow players to run both Assault Modes or allow this card to be searchable by Assault Beast. Assault Beast is a cool card, but I'd rather not every Deck run 3 Assault Beast, 2-3 Tenki, and 3 Assault Mode cards. That's kinda dumb. It's similar to my disdain for running so many cards in Gladiator Beasts just to search Elemental HERO Prisma. Might make this a Normal Spell though, even though I kinda like the target effect dodging I don't think it's necessary to make the new generic Assault Mode card a Quick-play. I'm planning on rather making my own archetype with a /Assault Mode card in it, so there will be a searcher of some kind. It'll probably be a Tuner monster.
