When this card is Normal Summoned: You can equip an Equip Spell from your GY to this card. This card gains 700 ATK for each card equipped to it. If this card would leave the field, you can Banish a card equipped to it instead. You can only use this effect of "Swordsmaster of Landstar" once per turn.

Considering how low this card's stats are, and how it has no protection and no card advantage from the getgo, wouldn't it be fair to have it equip from the Deck?

 

That way, you don't need to use Hidden armory, wait a turn, summon something expendable and equip it with that equip card, wait even more turns until it gets destroyed, and then Finally use this effect.

 

This would speed up Equip Spell Decks (which don't exist) by a lot, and is only improved by Reinforcement of the Army.

But yeah, at this point in the game, no deck should be concerned with a monster that has at most 2400 ATK (with the Warrior exclusive equip card that increases ATK by DEF) and no protection or serious card advantage. Dark hole, kaiju, etc are all easy ways to stop it, or just summoning a boss monster.

 

It sure would be fun to start off with a randomly 2400 level 3, though.

Is there a specific Equip you have in mind? because I don't think that many would benefit from being banished, and this card's protection doesn't need to be OPT. Power Tool Dragon's isn't and that card is 8 years old now.

 

Those are my suggestions: no OPT for protection (your equips will be limited advantage anyways), and get the equip to be destroyed as replacement, to trigger fun things like Blast With Chain or the Bamboo Sword engine.

 

Also, you might wanna say it leave the field by battle or by an effect, otherwise you'll be protecting it from destruction by rules in a situation of illegal game state at a tournament, or protect it from leaving the field by being Tributed or used as a Material for anything..... You can't exactly pay 4 stars for a Synchro Summon and then keep your monster on the field.....
