Number 42: Galaxy Tomahawk (Combo Questions)

You can detach 2 Xyz Materials from this card, Special Summon as many "Battle Eagle Tokens" (Machine-Type/WIND/Level 6/ATK 2000/DEF 0) as possible, but destroy them during the End Phase of this turn, also your opponent takes no further battle damage this turn.

 

So, say I was able to get this out and put 5 tokens on the board.  What are some good Link boards you can think of that I would be able to make under this condition?

I actually don't know after the latest Link reveals so I got curious about this, too. Some combos with Qliphort Genius perhaps?

The general combo for this is either Darkwurm/Destrudo + Dragon Ravine to search a Supreme King Gate, set it in the Scales, Synchro Summon Odd-Eyes Meteorburst, use its effect Special Summon Supreme King Gate, and overlay for this. 

 

Yeah, Qliphort Genius seems like the best way to make use of the Tokens' typing, though you can also ladder them, go for generic Links, and when we get Link Bladefly that'll be an option too.

You want to start out with either a Security Dragon, a Qliphort Genius, the WIND version of Missus/Mistar/Do-Little, or some other future Link monster that can be made using Tomahawk itself and some amount of its Tokens and that also has at least one Link Arrow pointing downwards (so no Proxy Dragon). Firewall Dragon is the only thing we have in the TCG right now that does stuff, but it's not ideal to start with. This is one reason why Tomahawk hasn't been making any waves in the TCG yet.

 

Once you got a Link 2 out, you can go from there depending on what you want to achieve. You can use 2 Tokens for Proxy Dragon and then Link the remaining 2 Tokens with the original Link 2 for Firewall Dragon next to Proxy Dragon.

 

Alternatively, you can make 4-mat Skulldeat by using 2 Tokens for Proxy Dragon and 1 Token for Link Spider. The original Link 2 + Proxy + Link Spid + the 1 Token remaining is 4 materials with different names.

 

3-mat Skulldeat can also be made in the same way without the Proxy Dragon, which gives you Skulldeat and 2 Tokens remaining for whatever other comboos you want. Do note however that the Tokens are destroyed in the End Phase, so don't leave them out.

 

If you have other Link Materials in hand, you can go very far by using Tomahawk to kick start your plays and provide additional Link fodder so that you don't run dry.
