Vanishing Space Typhoon

Spell - Quick Play

Destroy 1 Spell/Trap on the field

The point of this is a retrain of MST where it doesn't target. So if your opponent has 3-5 backrow they don't know which one you are going to destroy until it is too late.

This may lead to a situation where your opponent has multiple cards they can just activate anytime, like "Sinister Shadow Games" or "Dimensional Barrier" and get its effect. They can activate them to make sure they get its effect but then you're not going to destroy it since that would do nothing so you end up hitting their face-down "Solemn Strike" instead. It would be interesting to see how such interaction would work out.

I think this would be a good way to retrain MST since it has almost completely been powercrept by "Cosmic Cyclone". It also keeps the heart and soul of MST in its effect with a slight twist. What do you think?

Likely due to either finding the LP cost / targeting thing unappealing for modern standards, even if it DOES banish stuff instead of putting it in the GY. But, follow the AC, Terrie.

I mean, Eshai technically made an equivalent of this some time ago. Yeah, it's no more than a non-targeting MST, so not much that can be said about it that isn't already done for standard MST, save for getting to choose another target if original one can't be touched. MST isn't as good as it used to be nowadays, but it's still workable.

I would say to add an OPT on it, but then it ends up being worse, and then you might as well use Twin Twisters instead or something.

A ridiculous sentiment tbh.

"Targeting is bad" is a myth perpetuated by the abundance of monsters, not Spells/Traps, of a certain time frame that were resistant to that mechanic.

Neither are LP costs a deterrent of any kind to running a card, unlike costs that expend relevant resources.

Cosmic Cyclone is obviously generally better than Mystical Space Typhoon (although not strictly, which this card is much closer to being). So why does this exist to serve that same role?

I made more than enough points in my original post. Please read between the lines and extrapolate. I don't want to tarnish the brevity by which I accomplished that by adding filler and fluff to meet an arbitrary 30-word requirement.

(That's to say, I'll try to in the future, but come on.)
