Dark Armed Phantom Ninja

So this card is a Fusion for Ninja's that is summoned by banishing materials from the grave and can banish a card and inflict 800 points of damage during either players turn by banishing a Ninjitsu Art card.

 

 

In Ninja's this would be a good boss as it fits in with the uncertainty for your opponent for when you will spring this upon them and the field removal and damage adds to it for pushing games.

Of course it would be a good boss, it's a damn ABC-style Contact Fusion for Ninjas >.>

At least it's not as overpowering as ABCs. The card seems acceptable, if only because the powercreep allows it. It could have had a effect more associated with Ninjas for the extra flavor, rather than a powercrept Quick Effect removal. Then again, Ninjas don't really have a defined theme.I thought about Summoning in face-down Defense Position like Silver Ninja does, but they also have some protection effects for Ninjas/Ninjitsu arts, plus the Transformations, and so on.

 

Is it related in some way to Dark Armed Dragon?

To be honest I thought the fact is was a contact fusion could bring a bit of lore to ninja's since this basically hides in the shadows of the Extra Deck until its ready to pop out to make its assault and use its Ninjustu arts to banish cards.

 

In addition to some concept of the design it could be slightly relative to Dark Armed though the difference being this is a Level 8 Warrior with 1500 DEF.

That does make some sense xD

Although you could achieve a similar effect with a regular Contact Fusion, taking the material from GY does give it and Ninjas a much needed punch.

Still, I feel the removal effect could be something different, since not only it feels like a ripoff of Master Peace's but also it's enhanced with banishment and effect damage. It's a little too much for a card this easy to Summon, IMO.

You say that but Master Peace's effect activates in response to card effects and destroys that card while this requires you to pay the cost of banishing a Ninjutsu Art card in order to use its effect to banish a card and deal damage, plus this cards effect is limited to a hard OPT.

This can also activate in response, and Master Peace requires a cost too, albeit a more flexible one. And a hard OPT is only fair since you can Summon it by simply getting 3 Ninjas in the field/GY, which can be assisted with milling strategies.

For another comparison, ABC Buster also banishes as a Quick Effect. While it does have the heavier cost of a discard, that's offset by its floating effect that basically sets up for another copy of itself, plus the "sent to GY" effects of the materials.

It doesn't speak well of this card that both ABC and Master Peace have been hit (ABC is Limited in OCG).
