You can only use this card name’s (2) effect once per turn.
(1) Fusion Summon 1 “Fossil” Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, by banishing monsters from either GY as material. If you banished monsters from both GYs with this effect, the Special Summoned monster cannot be targeted by monster effects.
(2) If a face-up “Fossil” Fusion Monster you control is destroyed by battle or card effect and this card is in your GY: You can add this card from your GY to your hand.

(3) During your opponent’s turn (Quick Effect): You can target 1 monster in your opponent’s GY; discard 1 card, and if you do, Special summon that target to your field.

[The Highlander]

They look decent in a vacuum, of course there is no way to predict how they will turn out to be, however these are already quite good.

Fossil King is a straight upgrade and has an additional revival effect, too bad Superpolymerization is not available though.

Fossil Fusion has Invocation-like self recovery and can add a Borreload Dragon-like protection, which is quite valuable.

These might mix quite well with the recent Synchro Roch archtype, depending on how the others (especially the low level fusions) turn out to be.
