Dramatic Crossroad
Batteryman 4.5-Volt (LIGHT) Level:2 |[Thunder/Effect]| ATK/500 |DEF/500 If this card is added from your Deck or GY to your hand by a card effect: You can Special Summon this card.If this card is Normal or Flip Summoned: You can pay 500 LP; immediately after this effect resolves, Normal Summon 1 "Batteryman" monster. You can use each effect of "Batteryman 4.5-Volt" only once per turn. During your End Phase; destroy this card. (Artwork: it's mine, this is why it looks so lackluster) I have been wondering what Batteryman were lacking and the first that i could notice was definitely speed (among other things), so i brainstormed about the "missing" link that would combo with all the main players. Here are the interactions i had intended with the rest of the archetype (alphabetically): 9-Volt: arguably this card's most valuable ally, being enabled by its effect (when added to the hand) while also being able to enable it in return (via the additional Normal Summon). It also inherits the short lifespan, which is not a huge loss, since its presence is not that intimidating and could be more valuable in the GY where it can be recycled from, easily. AAA: Well, a hypothetical Link 2 can now reach the Link 3 mark with this card. Charger: one of the slowest (2nd only to Button-Cell), this card's potential could be "unlocked" with this card. Use 4.5 to instantly tribute summon it and trade off the loss (it's going to the GY anyway), even if it's a 2-for-2. You could also combo 4.5 with Charger for a 9-Volt and search another 4.5 or Fuel-Cell to instantly fulfill the activation requirements of "Short Circuit". Fuel-Cell: with more swarming possibilities Fuel-Cell thrives. You would also want to use 4.5 as cost, since it's not as valuable as a beatstick as 9-Volt could be, you would maybe want to recycle it from the GY with one of the spells available too. Solar - there could be some interesting interactions, although this could be the card gaining the least from all listed.
Darj
Looks really good to me. It's similar to Rose Fairy and Lappis Dragon in that it Summons itself when it's added to the hand, and I have seen both played in a couple of decks, namely Generaider variants (Mardel searches Rose Fairy) and Atlanteans. This should be effective at swarming. But IMO a more appealing trait is that AFAIK the effect activates in the hand, and that means... Thunder Dragon Colossus of course! Currently TCG has it banned but OCG still has it, and it can come back to TCG pretty much anytime so it's a trait and interaction that will linger in the card. Dramatic Crossroad
Fair Point. first actually thanks for taking your time and commenting I kinda glossed over the fact that it could interact and be used (and/or abused) by other archetypes. My intention was to just offer a boost for a deck i loved and still do. Would changing the condition make a difference, something like: "If this card is added to your hand by an effect that specifically lists a "Batteryman" monster;...." This would somewhat limit the viability, since it won't sp.summon off of generic cards like "Recycling Batteries", "Light of Redemption", "Rai-Mei") Not like it matters as much, like Konami would actually make the card, but still

What image editor program did you use to make it? Photoshop, GIMP, Paint Tool Sai? "You can only use each effect of.... is the only small detail to correct in the card grammar I'm seeing that I'm sure of. What I have some doubts is in the Normal Summoning effect. If I understand correctly, this card will grant you an additional Normal Summon, right? But it's arguable that, as it is, it kinda feels like you're being obliged to use up your natural Normal Summon. I don't think this can be worded the same as those effects like Atlantean Heavy Infantry, but maybe something like: You can pay 500 LP; immediately after this effect resolves, Normal Summon 1 "Batteryman" monster in addition to your Normal Summon/Set. Mmmm.... It doesn't sound too good, right? Maybe: You can pay 500 LP; immediately after this effect resolves, Normal Summon 1 "Batteryman" monster (this Summon is not treated as this turn's Normal Summon). Well, maybe both are wrong, but you might be able to find the answer based on that ^_^''. Anyway, I like the format of your posts, keep it up! Darj
Rayfield got a good point, you have to mind the type of extra Normal Summon this card provides, because there are three: https://ygorganization.com/doublesummonlist/ But I assume you are going for the same kind of extra Normal Summon as the Hunders. Your change would be a big nerf that IMO doesn't need it. Nothing wrong with supporting non-Batteryman decks that can grab this, and Batterymen do see play in other decks, like how Solar supports Thunders in general with the mill. I'm more concerned about the shortcut into Thunder Dragon Colossus, instead. Forgot to comment on the art. It looks really good actually, IMO. If anything the edition with the background is off but the drawing of the monster itself is good.
