Question

What if each pot had the shard equivalent where it had the same effect as shard of greed except the counters get added during each draw phase to a maximum of 2 and avarice's cost is to from GY back to deck to add counter, desires 5 banish face down, and extravagance 3 from extra deck. the trade off is you have to wait but the spells are unaffected by card effects (I know a lot of you hate this protection) so it's guaranteed card advantage.

I think that even guaranteed Shard version cards would just be too slow to be used.

"Ledger of Legerdmain" is a good example of this.  It is three turns (so it is slower than the shards), but it is a +2 instead of a +1, and it is also pretty much guaranteed since the card doesn't stay on the field.  Ledger can also be used to help out certain banish strategies so there is extra application, but it still isn't used at any competitive level.
