Free Will does not exist.

Everything occurrence, past, present, and future, has been the result of events prior that have directly and indirectly affected them to happen this way. Every thought you have ever had has been the result of what chemicals have induced what emotions in your brain, and how that has affected your perception of what you call reality. Your actions have been directly based on these perceptions of reality, your brain causes you to do things based on thoughts, "reality", and creeds created from the result of past occurrences.

Choices do not exist. Freedom is simply the consciousness of necessity, the feelings of need, lust, and greed caused by humans perceiving reality and acting on them. We are simply biological machines who have acted upon influence in an absolutely certain manner, planned by nothing more than the existence of the infinite past.

Beyond this, you can make logical determinations about the "state of god", or you can just think that logic is completely illogical out of fear of not choosing your destiny. All I'm saying is that by spreading ideas, inevitably, more people will hear them, some understand them, and probably less of them choose to accept them. So here's my shout out, eventually perhaps, we will have a world that understands and accepts Determinism as a concept lest some genius philosophy comes about that blows it away.

"We shall have a World government, whether or not we like it. The only question is whether World government will be achieved by conquest or consent."

Dude, like pretty much everything else you say, that was pretty deep. Kinda sounds like something I would read out of a Psychology textbook. Well it is kind of psychological, isn't it. :P

Oh yeah, happy late birthday. (I feel kind of bad because I remembered literally the day afterwards).

Since you told us your belief, let me do it too.

In my opinion, every individual being has a choice in any matter.Life is not just set in stone the moment we were born.We can choose our own actions & they make up our future.Sure we cannot prevent ourselves from dying, but we should try to live as long as possible.

In other words,I'm saying that we should not let "fate" (should it exists) control us. Instead, we should strive for our own success.

Its not a belief. I used fact to back it up, and it makes sense. That is how we determine the truth. What exactly makes us choose? Did you click the youtube video? Did it make sense to you? Is Sven's bad grammar too much for you to handle? If so, consider rethinking posting in my topics, because I am the authority on truth, and unless you provide good ample support as to why your opinion is right, it is disregarded. Logical deduction is evidence, it makes sense. However, stating that free will exists with no proof that we choose what we do OTHER THAN THAT WE FEEL THAT WE DO is blasphemy.

Slimey, go on AIM, Enloe wishes to talk to you and I love you regardless of the lack of happy birthday ;).

I"m gonna borrow an idea from my favorite book series. Free will and prophecy are the balances to eachother. One cannot live without the other. A prophecy/destiny/etc is the math equation and free will is the variable.

How does that make sense though? How can free will exist if what happened in the past determines absolutely what will happen in the present and future. There is no room for change, everything past, present, and future is inevitable. You cannot change any of it, you just think you can, everything that will happen will happen exactly as it will happen, and there is no possible way to change the one possible future. Free will is a silly concept to keep people in line, so that the idea of punishing "injustice" seems humane. We created morals, and we created the idea of free will to promote fear in not abiding by them, to keep the majority oppressed on the mental level.

I really don't feel like completely explaining a concept thats explained in bits and pieces throughout 10 of the 11 books..........

(shouldn't this be in debates then?)

Man, I forgot Debates even existed, and it was created because of Matt and I.

If someone wants to move this there, that would be cool, but if it doesn't, then thats alright too. Actually, gets more publicity here, I would prefer it to be left here.

Thats ok, you don't have to explain it, I know enough about history, and I am enough of a Marxist and Nihilist, that you probably will not change my mind with a concept from a series of books not written about philosophy or history.

The books are mainly fantasy novels, but theres a lot of deep philosophical concepts in there. Some fellow fans I've met really enjoy philosophy so you'd probably enjoy them. especially the 6th one.

lol, I've got this empty feeling now that I read them all because I miss reading them and I cannot stand re-reading books lol.

but in order for all this predictability or whatnot... Free Will had to be there somewhere in time. A species to learn etc, we had to get into our habits some way. Though while what you say is true (Slimy I dont see this as deep :? Just stating the obvious) . So yes according to your statement Free Will does exist in the past lulz....

Now it can all be formulated from life experiences etc, which is rather sad but makes your statement true. But this I believe is what Free Will has become....

Ohh and to be formal, Happy Belated Birthday...

I never really thought about this that much, but what you say is correct.

We make our choices based on our mind weighing the options and picking the best one. And because we are just instinctively picking the best one, we have no true say in what we do. The words “to chose” is just us simplifying this whole process down.

Well, that is what I got out of the video.

This is a hard concept to understand, but I want to understand it, so if I’m wrong any where just tell me.

This has to be true to some degree, and false to an inverse degree; both degrees are enigmatic and probably unattainable, but exist.

The influence of the past is who we are, and is the way we perceive the present and predict the future. However, each individual combination of influences is unique. Therefore, we ourselves do have some form of "free will" — that is, a unique will that no one else has.

How CAN freewill exist when only one possible future exists, and especially when that future is ONLY dependent on what has happened prior to its occurrence. We think we make choices, but OUR THOUGHTS ARE BASED ON WHAT HAS HAPPENED IN THE PAST. OUR THOUGHTS ARE NOT WITHIN OUR CONTROL. Thus, our actions are not within our control, and the effects of our actions are not within our control.

Now when you all are done arguing with this fact, think about how this applies to history. The Holocaust, The Crusades, The Federal Republic known as the United States of America, Charlemange (however his name is spelt), Islam. Every one of those things was certain to occur since the beginning, and had no chance of it happening any differently than it did.

But if you agree with me, think about this; The following must be right:

Human fault does not exist. Crime and Punishment is unjust.

From my subjective standpoint on world issues:

Action must be taken to fix the world, because the inevitable future stands the same as it always did, we will win the war against oppression, because education is getting better across the world, lest religion sticks its ugly head in the way. The world is ours for the taking, and our new world order, a world for the people, is within our grasp.
