Iamabrawler
I believe that Normal Monsters aren't toilet paper as everyone thinks here. The creators don't always have ideas for effects. However, sure many of them would need effects. Most of you would even recopy the cards from Legend of Blue-Eyes booster pack and add effects to all cards. I don't care. But hey, that's only my opinion. So, talk about that here. And remember: if any user here makes normal monster cards, it's maybe because it finds nothing that fits the monster. Guest Supreme Gamesmaster
If no effect fits the monster, the monster isn't worth making. I am going through the early sets and adding effects to all the cards (and doing a /lot/ of level manipulation >.<). Card effects drive the game now, so random beatsticks with no power to influence the game are worthless.
Huntar!
ok then. Thats ur opinion, but in case you can find a real use for them, and make the deck win regionals or something, Im gonna say they suck... Keep your thoughts to yourself, because 9/10 people here are gonna say 'normal monsters make good toilet paper'.... oh yeah, Normal Monsters make good toilet paper. 「tea.leaf」
Okay, that makes vanillas fillers, which are just as bad and just as much of a waste of ink/cardboard/time/space/resources/etc.
Abstract [Atrocity]
We rarely have Vanillas in packs anymore; if they are made, they have a purpose, like GB Andal, or some of the Vanilla Tuners. Making a whole set of vanillas on YCM is useless. 1 or 2 is fine, maybe a few more if they have a decent purpose. But a 20 card set of monsters with no effect? just don't make them. Mr. Judgment Dragon
People see Normal Monsters as bad cards because they dont have overpowered effects like the ones of Dark Armed Dragon or Judgment Dragon.

J-Max
Konami did try. They tried to make cards that worked with Normal Monsters, such as Heart of The Underdog. But unless you're planning to run a pure Beatdown deck then they are just not worth it.

Kizzi
Normal Monsters are a decent casual decktype if they're focused and have support. If they're just scattered around, then they're pretty much the worst possible monsters you could have. Except maybe Kuriboh.
Spire
I think Normal mosters can be a huge strentgh. Think about strong ones like Gene-Warped Warwolf, has 2000ATK and its a level 4. And stronger Normal ones, like Blue Eyes.
CinnamonStar
While it is true that they aren't the most useful cards, I wouldn't say they'd make good toilet paper because there are still some Normal monsters which have been created for a purpose and which fit into a theme deck. And remember: if any user here makes normal monster cards, it's maybe because it finds nothing that fits the monster. If you've got a bit creativity, you will always find a fitting effect for any card. For myself, when I choose to keep a card as a vanilla, it is because I prefer to add a good story which fits to the image I'm using into the description part. Sometimes you come across pictures which inspire you to make up a background story about them. @ Future Emperor: I wouldn't call Gene-Warped Warwolf and Blue Eyes White Dragon monsters with "huge strength", though...:? Orochi
normal monsters used to not suck on early games... but guess what, effect monsters were born... today, there's only a few reasons to use normal monsters on a deck, like demise OTK variants or gigaplant aggro... Iamabrawler
Per example, my Goomba card (on the Pop Culture Cards section)... Since it only moves around an falls down endless pits, it's impossible to find a nice effect for that one. I'm trying to get effects that fit the card. Like my Hero combo: Summon Mario and Luigi, if Mario is destroyed Luigi gains 500 ATK and DEF. Summon Subcon Peach, if Luigi is destroyed (and since Mario is already destroyed) she gains 1000 ATK and DEF. Summon Subcon Toad, if Peach is destroyed too (with Mario and Luigi) he gains 1500 ATK and DEF in total. This makes 3000 ATK and DEF! But for Mario, I couldn't find a decent effect. Nor for Bowser. BUt hell, he's 3200 at 8 stars! Not that bad...
