The Old Man gave a smile, James could tell that he was a great duelist in his past and that he had been through many dangerous encounters Susan: His name is Solomon Muto. He pretty much is a card game expert The old man laughed Solomon: Oh ho! I would call myself an expert… Aha! Who’s this nice looking guy here? Brad and Susan looked at James Brad: Err…James: It’s James…Solomon: Oh, what a nice name! How can I help you here today?Brad: Well, we would like to buy some cards!Solomon: Well aren’t you a lucky bunch! A New Set just arrived not to long ago.Susan: Sweet! Both Susan and Brad ran up to the counter. James went looking around the store. He looked up and saw a sign saying “Help Wanted” James: Mr. Muto? Solomon turned around Solomon: Yes?James: Are you looking for an employee?Solomon: Yeah, ever since my Grandson went to high school, he doesn’t have much time to help me with the store… It soon hit him! “Grandson…” Solomon: Hello? You there? James snapped out of it James: Yeah. You don’t mind…Solomon: To work here?James: In a nutshell, yes!Solomon: To be hired here, you must know a lot about Duel Monsters! Come back tomorrow morning when I am ready. James smiled. He already knew a lot about Duel Monsters. James then turned around, to see that Brad and Susan had stacked up around about 51 packs of cards Brad: Ha! How much are all of these? Solomon was in shock Solomon: Err… so much for new stock… = = = It was long until Brad was carrying a basket full of Duel Monster Cards Brad: Man, I love that storeJames: Yeah, it is pretty goodSusan: I can’t wait to open up all these cards! While Brad and Susan were talking, James stopped and noticed a bunch of students walking by… James: Huh… that kid with spiky hair looks familiar There was a guy with blonde hair, a guy with dark hair, another guy with crazy hair and a female. James then felt something in his pocket James: Huh? James reached into his pocket and pulled out his Time Wizard. It was glowing in different colors. James: Can that be? The group of students walked into Solomon’s shop James: Yugi and Joey! James then turned around, there was a stuck up guy who got out of a car. He had brown hair and he started to follow the students into the shop. He was carrying a briefcase. James: Huh… OK… Susan then turned around and yelled! Susan: HEY! JAMES! YOU COMING OR NOTJames: Yeah… James ran to catch up with Brad and Susan. It wasn’t long until they reached back to Brad and Susan’s house. And they took out all the packs Brad: Well, all up we can have 17 packs each and James owes us hang on… 5 times 17 equals… 85 dollars James sighed James: Let’s just hope I get that job ey!Susan: Yeah…Brad: And while you find your way back! You can stay here!James: Geez… you two are very inviting, but that’s something I cannot doSusan: Why not? I’m sure our parents won’t mindJames: Well aren’t you worried that I might be some sort of serial killer or something? Brad just laughed Brad: Oh, by the look in your eyes, I believe you’re no killer. You can sleep in the spare roomJames: Wow… I don’t know how to thank you both. I’ll be happy to pay rent.Susan: That’s cool! More money for us Susan, Brad and James laughed in synch. A New friendship brewed. = = = It wasn’t until next morning when James got ready for his job interview. He stacked his new set of cards into his pocket and slowly walked out the front door, to try and not to wake anyone up. He reached the Game Store just in time and Solomon opened up the door… Solomon: Good Morning! Ready for your Interview!James: Sure am!Solomon: Come inside… James walked inside the shop Solomon: Please, walk into the back room. I’m just going to get my Deck ready James cheered. He was going to duel! He quickly ran into the back room, which lied a table and two chairs. James sat down and waited…. James: I wonder what surprises Solomon might have for me… James then heard the shop door open. Solomon greeted them… James then heard some voices coming from the shop “My Master Seto Kaiba challenges you to a Duel”. It hit James once more James: Seto Kaiba! James walked and hid behind door. ???:… You will come with us nowSolomon: And if I were to decline????: I’m afraid I must… insist. There seemed to be a rich guy with two bodyguards beside him. Suddenly the bodyguards grabbed Solomon and dragged him James: No! James bravely walked out to try and stop them. But one of the bodyguards grabbed him as well. ???: I See… You’re friend can come too!Solomon: James!James: I’m fine… The bodyguards shoved both James and Solomon into the car. ???: You two will be dealt with by Mr. Kaiba. I suggest you pay him some respect. The car drove off leaving nothing but a trace behind. Soon, they reached Kaiba’s headquarters. James and Solomon were forced out of the car. ???: Follow my Guards. They will lead you to Master Seto Kaiba The Guards forced them both up into the tower and into a room where Kaiba was waiting for them. James looked at Kaiba in the eye… James: Kaiba… The three all stood and stared Kaiba: Welcome. This is a pleasant surprise. Two for the price of one!James: Let Solomon go!Kaiba: Do you think that I’ll be foolish enough to accept that. I don’t even know who you are or why you’re here, but at least you can watch. James snarled. Solomon didn’t say a word Kaiba: Ready! Old Man! We will Duel by the new Duelist Kingdom Rules…James: Duelist Kingdom Rules?Kaiba: Where in the world have you been? The Duelist Kingdom is an upcoming tournament held by the creator of Duel Monsters, Pegasus! Each player has 2000 Life Points and you don’t have to tribute monsters to Tribute Summon. In addition to this rule, no monsters can attack a player directly!James: Wow… talk about a dodgy set of rules Solomon then stood up Solomon: I’m ready for your challenge! The Heart of the cards will guide me!Kaiba: The step up old man! To my new dueling technology! Kaiba pulled a rope, which released a massive cover over a Duel Arena Kaiba: Behold! The KaibaTech Duel Arenas! We have already shipped these around the globe, but you old man! Will be the very first to try it!James: Wow… Kaiba then walked to the left of the Dueling Arena and stepped up to the platform, which rose. Solomon followed to the other side and it rose to. James took a seat. James: Come on Solomon! Show Kaiba what you’re made of! Solomon smiled Solomon: I don’t know what’s so special about this technology you speak of, but let’s duel! Solomon and Kaiba placed their decks on the Deck Zone. The screen above them showed both of there names and Life Point counters Kaiba: LET’S DUEL! Kaiba = 2000 LPSolomon = 2000 LP Solomon: It’s about time I’ll show you the heart of the cards! I’ll draw! And summon Beaver Warrior into Attack Position! (ATK: 1200 / DEF: 1500). Suddenly out of no where a Beaver Warrior appeared! Solomon: Whoa! Real Monsters!Kaiba: No you old fool! My technology uses hologram projectile images of each and every Duel Monsters card, that’s what makes my technology so pricelessSolomon: Fine! Whatever… Let’s see you try my Beaver Warrior!Kaiba: I Will! I Draw! And I’ll attack your monster with this! Mystic Horseman (ATK: 1300 / DEF: 1550) Solomon’s Beaver Warrior was destroyed Solomon = 1900 LP Kaiba: You’ll have to summon stronger monsters to destroy me! AHAHAH!Solomon: You still don’t understand! But it looks like I have to show you! I Draw and Summon Summoned Skull! (ATK: 2500 / DEF: 1200). He has enough ATK to take down your Horseman! Summoned Skull attack! Summoned Skull easily destroyed Mystic Horseman James: Alright! Go Solomon! Solomon gave a thumbs up. Kaiba = 800 LP Kaiba: Grrr… you’ll pay for that! It’s my move! Kaiba drew his card Kaiba: You don’t really know what’s in store for you old man! My next move, will be you’re last! A silhouette of a dragon appeared behind Kaiba. Solomon just laughed Solomon: Bring it! I’ll take down any monster you summon…!Kaiba: AHAHAHAH! James gulped. What Kaiba had in store for Solomon didn’t look pretty. As Kaiba laughed and stared at the card that he was holding, it could only mean one thing James: Blue-Eyes…. Solomon: Blue-Eyes! Burst Stream of Destruction! This card destroys one Spell Card on the field! And I choose your Horn of the Unicorn!Solomon: Grrr…Kaiba: And the stupid thing is, since your card was removed from the field, it returns to the top of your Deck! Restricting your draw…! James freaked! Now the Blue-Eyes White Dragons were at the same attack level! Kaiba: AHAHAHA! And now! You’re a lucky old man, because you’re not going to be going up against one Blue-Eyes! But two! Kaiba summoned another Blue-Eyes (ATK: 3000) Solomon: How many of those dragons do you have?Kaiba: 3 to be precise! And you have the 4th and final card! Which I want…! James now was worried. How can Solomon win now, when his draw is restricted and he’s up against two dragons! Kaiba: AHAHAH! So say goodbye to you’re Blue-Eyes old man! Blue-Eyes, I command you to use White Lightning on the old man’s Blue-Eyes now!Solomon: Blue-Eyes! Use Burst Stream of Destruction! Both of the dragons attacked. Destroying each other Kaiba: Now you have got nothing to protect yourself! And I’ve still got another powerhouse ready to go! So draw your Horn of the Unicorn! And remember, rules state that you have to summon a monster… Solomon drew his card. He looked disappointed… Solomon: I Place a monster in face-down defense Position and end…Kaiba: This is where it all ends my old friend. That Blue-Eyes that you possess is mine! I Play the Spell Card! Stop Defense! This switches your face-down monster into Attack Position! The face-down monster was revealed… it was Celtic Guardian! (ATK: 1400) Solomon: I’m sorry… I failed…Kaiba: You sure have! Let’s finished this! James was in shock… Solomon was going to lose James: Nooo! Kaiba: Blue-Eyes White Dragon! Destroy Celtic Guardian by using White Lightning! The Blue-Eyes attacked, but Celtic Guardian couldn’t stand a chance… But the attack continued, hitting Solomon and knocking him off the Duel Platform Solomon = 0 LP James: Solomon! James ran down to help Solomon… he was in pain! He landed right on his back Solomon: My… back…James: It’s OK… Kaiba! Call a medic! Kaiba came walking down, he was laughing Kaiba: Oh! Poor old man fell off my Duel Arena! Sucks to be you! Kaiba grabbed Solomon’s Deck and took the Blue-Eyes White Dragon Kaiba: You’re precious dragon is mine. AHAHAHAH! James got up James: KAIBA!Kaiba: What do you want pipsqueak! I’ll call for help… ahahah…James: How about a duel? Winner takes that Blue-Eyes White Dragon!Kaiba: AHAHAH! Whatever… let me make this phone call and then we will duel.James: And none of that stupid Duelist Kingdom crap! We will duel the proper way!Kaiba: I’m a master at all the rules pipsqueak. Kaiba then pulled out a cell phone and dialed a number… then someone answered Kaiba: Ah Yugi.. Perfect... Your Grandfathers here visiting, but hes not feeling very well, why you don’t come by my office and pick him up Kaiba then hung up as quickly as he could. Kaiba: When you’re ready… He walked to the other side of the arena. James snarled and then he turned around James: Don’t worry Solomon! I’ll get you you’re dragon back Solomon looked up, and held out his Deck Solomon: Here… take my Deck!James: What!Solomon: My deck has the potential to beat Kaiba… I can feel itJames: Well... ok, but I’m not keeping it…Solomon: Of course not, beat Kaiba with it! Solomon then rolled himself into a ball to try and stop the pain. James held Solomon’s Deck and he could feel something, a feeling that he never felt before. James: Wow… James then felt something in his pocket. He pulled it out… his Time Wizard was on the fritz again… but this time, it was glowing a different color than usual James: Oh no! What is this supposed to mean… James hid his Time Wizard and walked up to the Duel Platform, which raised. He shuffled the Deck, then placed his Deck on the Deck Zone, and the Arena activated James: OK… Let’s just hope I can beat Kaiba and finish him off for good Kaiba then yelled from the other side of the Arena Kaiba: AHAHAH! You ready! I’ve set the duel to 8000 Life Points each! You’re not going to last long!James: Ha! The way I Duel and where I come from, we never back down from a challenge!Kaiba: Well draw your cards and lets duel!James: You’re going down! James and Kaiba: DUEL! James = 8000 LPKaiba = 8000 LP Both the two duelists drew there cards. But James’s hand seemed odd James drew Winged Dragon, Guardian of the Fortress #1, Sangan, Swords of Revealing Light, Beaver Warrior and a card that was very unusual… Left Leg of the Forbidden One, and then it hit James James: Oh my… Solomon wasn’t trying to beat Kaiba by force! He was trying to Summon Exodia! The Forbidden One!... just like Yugi did when he bet Kaiba….
