I'm Smart?..... *.Burn It Down.* TO DA MAX...

Okay so I'm in a small predicament. Or a big predicament. Or whatever size predicament you see it as being on your scale of predicaments.

Okay so earlier today I went out to get the mail and got this message from these people called the "Ambassador Students Program". It had my name on it (kevin shealy) so I opened it up. And when I read the message I was like WTF???

It said that I was invited to do studies over the summer of 2009 in England, France, and the Netherlands. :O

I live in the U.S. and have actually never been outside of the U.S. So I was stoked. But then I considered the fact that it could have been fake.

Turns out it was legitament. But then I thought about how much it might cost, and figured that it would be at least in the thousands.

So I guess my question is one asking for advice. First; have any of you been in this program? And second; If so how much did it cost, or how much do you think it would cost? And would it be worth it?

(I was actually debating on whether or not I should post this. So...)

Actually it isn't a scam;

Not to mention that I used to get letters from these people in 3rd grade (as well as duke university where I would NEVER go).

This letter is 100% legit.

Lol my grades were crap too. Apparently a teacher of mine reccommended me.

I passed my second year of ninth grade with a 1.0 GPA ^_^...the only subject I did good in was science (Biology to be exact) because I already knew half the stuff :P

I Congratulate You Willieh! If it is indeed authentic, go for it, you have a year to save up if it isn't pre-paid.

I woudn't do it, because of the money, and because of that I have a very worrying mother :P And I myself don't like going out.

Sure it's quite educational. If you want it.... do it.

I think this is one of those programs where you pretty much "buy" yourself an award. You get interviewed, send in your letters, pay your checks, go on a tour, and you've got yourself a nice piece of card stock with shiny lettering that somehow justifies you've done something special.

Do it if you want, it's a good experience nonetheless.

It's a program where they take the GT teachers and have them recommend some of their students. The people who go on these trips get a sheet load of college credit.

:| I'm not sure if I will have enough money at the time of the trip though >.<

This better be pretty American exclusive, otherwise, I'm going to feel like a douche. =/.

I've never been offered one, but I can't really see the benefits of having one.

Studying overseas vs. studying here.

Either way, tis study.

College credits a bonus.. But college is expensive enough as it is. =/.
