Guest PikaPerson01
On-topic: Their stats are a disgrace, their effects are outclassed by a lot of other monsters that are much more splashable, and their only decent support is Morphtronic Accelerator. Why couldn't we get any of Ruka's cards? (Specifically, Sunlight Unicorn)

「tea.leaf」
Hopefully this won't be another failed archetype. It's got potential, a lot of it. All we can do is hope Konami doesn't mess up.
Tabris
The name - Morphtronic - makes me wanna cut my tongue and send it to Konami... ... but they're decent. Not ones to take over metas the GB way, but decent.Hopefully this won't be another failed archetype. It's got potential' date=' a lot of it. All we can do is hope Konami doesn't mess up.[/quote'] Judging on the success of every archetype they've made so far (other than Gladiator Beasts), I guess Konami, being Konami, is bound to mess up and forget that it messed up again. pizzaman
Still a new archetype, so can't go around saying they are bad... yet. However, the only Deformers played in a Deformer deck are the ones stated by The Dark One, which is pretty sad since all the other cards had potential before release and subjected to an effect change. Guest PikaPerson01
As a new theme, it's pretty bad, and unless they get a super "broken" card or something, or just general better support I don't see Morphtronics as being any good. Heck, I think I consider Cloudians a better archetye, and I'm not a big fan of clouds.
「tea.leaf」
This this how bad they are right now: Morphtronics need a card better than a field-nuke to make them viable.

setsuko
Morphtronics really aren't that bad.. they piss off a lot of people if used in the right build. Cards coming in from Crimson Crisis are Morphtronic Barrier, Morphtronic Field, and Morphtronic Boardon. Best support you could have for a Morphtronic deck. This is my build.17 Monsters:3x Radion2x Boardon3x Celfon2x Clocken3x Boomboxen2x Cameran 12 Traps:2x Morphtransition2x Morphtronic Barrier2x No Entry!!3x Zero Gravity3x Windstorm of Etaqua 11 Spells:3x Morphtronic Field2x Terraforming2x Morphtronic Accelerator2x Inferno Reckless Summon2x Card Rotator1x Swords of Revealing Light1x Monster Reborn Play test it and you'll see how well it runs. Killey
Initial release of Deformers were mediocre and I was largely skeptical at there win conditions. However, there are successful builds of the theme and it has some OTK possibilities and can explode at a moment's notice. The problem is that the synergies of the deck were luck based (dice rolls) and lacked consistency to a certain degree. With Crimson Crisis there were multiple cards that were released for the theme that made it even better and the OTK's started to become more consistent but again it was difficult to control the match when you didn't run into the right combination's. Raging battle released a slew of cards that really pushed the theme to new heights. I've created a thread (below) that goes into detail of the new cards and what it does for the theme. http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/thread-100593.html Essentially, the new cards have given them multiple ways to synchro summon level 7-8 monsters quickly, lock your opponent out of their battle phase, and get your effects off safely. They've been given a premature burial and a synchro that can tutor that premature burial upping their field swarm capabilities. Overall, it seems like Raging Battle has given them a considerable amount of tools to make the theme competitive. I'm not sure if they are at a point where they can take down top tier decks but I believe they now have the tools to go toe-to-toe with GB's and LS. TeleDAD will still overtake the deck but they can lock out the battle phase fast then they might have a fighting chance against teleDAD.
setsuko
Killey, I have to disagree on the fact that Morphtronics would go "toe-to-toe" with GBs unless Raging Battle came out sooner than expected. Although against LS and TeleDad, Morphtronics can overcome them easily if the user uses the right build with the Crimson Crisis release. I for one, have tested my MT deck against LS and TeleDad already, and I had had the upper hand for most of the duel, and then finished off the duel with a stall-burn with Radion, Boardon, Cameran, and Clocken (all in Defense Position). I have yet to try the cards from Raging Battle, but I look forward to the upcoming pack. You can view my MT deck on the 2nd page of this thread. Killey
I was actually saying that Raging Battle gave them the tools to compete with GB decks. As it stands right now unless you can stall out GB's Deformers will have a hard time getting their strategy to go off. It actually helps that they have low stats since it goes under a lot of the traps that GB's like to use like BTH and the deck is basically CCV proof against teledad. I would have though that Deformers would have a hard time with LS bcs of Ryko and Celestia.
