[star] decided to end his great time with ycm is such a manner that has made me lose all respect I had for him. Silencerleader has followed his footsteps, and spammed until he was banned.

 

My question to you all is,

Why is it that a person would ruin everything they have done here by ending their time here with spamming and flaming? As in the Silencer's thread, people can see that I am deeply concerned about this. Why is it that people want to leave the site, and the only way they think it is possible to leave is by being banned?

 

My opinion on this has been stated in other threads. Pizza has said that banning is not supposed to be requested. It is supposed to be a punishment. So, when a member spams and does what Star and Silencer have done, and they are banned, is that not actually doing as they have requested? Shouldn’t they just be warned and have the threads lock?

 

I sorted this as best I could, I am sorry if you do not understand what I am saying; I am just worried about what is going on here on ycm...

I know this is an open opinion, but Yankee, threads like these cause chaos, and both [star] and slince, were warned, that warning happen to exceed the limit of 100% becuase they both had previously a 60% warning. That is why they were banned, they weren't directly banned, except on stars main account.

Now in order to stop the chaos from arises, if this thread goes out of context, that member whom posts the comment, will, get a warning.

That could be true. Maybe they feel with school they wouldn't have the time. YCM would just be a distraction.

They ask for it and prove their ban is worthy...

Tis' better than begging for sure....

Can i be banned next? :D

Well, then they should ask themselves why they want to leave ycm, and if they really do. If you return, then it's pretty obvious that you really don't want to leave.

 

 

EDIT: Sorry Bloodrun, just somthing on my mind. =/

There was an option to delete them. They never took them.

 

Wild guess but they might of wanted their names to be remembered.

There was an option to delete them. They never took them.

 

Wild guess but they might of wanted their names to be remembered.

Which is exactly why we didn't allow them to be banned for no reason. It's just for show.

Is that a completely serious retort? I'm completely appauled that anyone would dare erase them from the history of the site itself.

 

Screw this thread, I don't even want a response, I think I get what's going on here.

[/quote']Why didn't they just leave!? Seriocly, there a a Leaving thread. Nothing is keeping them here. Why get banned if you can just leave? If you come back, the it's kind of easy to see that they don't really wanna leave, isn't it?

No, I'm goinig to respond to that, with this:

I know the reason why I did not ban either one of them.

They are/were, my friends, I looked up to [star] ever since I wanted to be a mod, I liked silence. I couldn not just ban them, never to see them again. I wanted this modship to be with the best of the best, but that era is gone now.

To tel you the truth, Yankee...I don't understand it either. If I were to leave for good, I wouldn't get banned on purpose...I'd give my account to someone else that I know in real life...if no one wants it..then I will put a block on YCM, as to make me unmotivated to ever come back/..

 

But I wouldn't do that until I know I am ready to leave YCM..which probably won't be happening for a long time.

Let me make this clear, Banning is a PUNISHMENT. We're not saying that you SHOULD break the rules to get your account banned, that's simply what you HAVE to do, in accordance with the rules.

 

You can leave the site, you can delete your account, but you can't abuse the ban system.

 

I have a determined in a few instances today that a member has made it clear that they will negatively contribute to the forum if not banned, in which case, I have IP banned them.

 

It's only in the case that a member wants to be banned for their own personal gain and does nothing to warrant it, that they will not be banned.

 

For those of you who wish to be banned in the future, I highly suggest simply LEAVING the site.
