ragnarok1945
that was then. And back on the fuel matter you really think with the US oil the rest of the world won't survive?
The_Prince_of_Death
no, they have plenty of their own just like the US has a reserve in alaska but the other countries haven't tried to save some for possible future needs.

ragnarok1945
well those people aren't so convinced armageddon is right around the corner, they feel the US is far too over-cautious

The_Prince_of_Death
The US isnt saving the oil in alaska for armagedon, but actually for when te US cant buy anymore when it runs out or when other countries wont sell.
ragnarok1945
the main problem is what will happen if armageddon begins in Alaska and Texas (where the majority of the oil is)
The_Prince_of_Death
then america better hope they have a differen fuel source than oil.
ragnarok1945
this is exactly why they're constantly wanting to drill to get more oil (regardless of how much pollution it's going to cause). They want to be ready when the day of reckoning comes
The_Prince_of_Death
mostly true. I also belive they are trying to save 2-5% of the oil they get from other countries along with other oil they dig up in the gulf of mexico.
ragnarok1945
the point is, no one knows when the day will come and therefore there's no such thing as "a safe place in the world to stock these supplies"
The_Prince_of_Death
true. I just figured out how to get a light bulb to work by using batteries.
ragnarok1945
But the world is a huge place, and the chances the exact spot of armageddon is right where all your supplies are aren't very high

ragnarok1945
but that still has to be on the planet, and you don't know if armageddon will take place there or not
Megaworm
well send oil into space with a giant ass tube that leads to mars. Hopefully that gets me into shanoa's sig.

2sick4u
well send oil into space with a giant ass tube that leads to mars. Hopefully that gets me into shanoa's sig. I love you. As such' date=' I say screw Shanoa, you're getting into my sig. =D. But we don't have space shuttles that can reach Mars yet Currently: Laughing. You continue to prove that you take no time to research what you say. You merely throw it out their in hopes and self-belief that you happen to be correct. Unfortunately enough, you still aren't even close. For starters, Megaworm is being a hilarity by posting the most logically stupid ideals, and then watching you respond to such as if they're somehow right and true. For Finishers, and I'm going to say this as obviously as I have before; we can reach Mars easily. We have reached Mars numerous times before. So, what the hell, are you a troll, or are you just mentally warped? =\. Come clean, man.
ragnarok1945
it's still no easy task to. And besides we still don't know what kind of an armageddon we're going to eventually deal with
2sick4u
it's still no easy task to. And besides we still don't know what kind of an armageddon we're going to eventually deal with With people? 50-50. With other less maintaining things? Presumably more easy. That, and Armageddon's are not something we 'deal with'. Armageddon's are something we try to survive, something to which effects our race so widely, so uncontrollably, that individual ideals run over social and Governmental ones. As such, we don't have to pool our resources in a safe location, and even then, we don't have to use oil. The 'individual' means in an Armageddon situation implies that you gather what you need for yourself, not what you need for your society. =\. Either way, Armageddon still isn't on the original topic. So, back to Alt. Fuels and Oil Drilling. My view on them is one out of simple human nature, that we mine what we need conservatively, but we mine what we want until we can mine no more. As such, Alt. Fuels will not be explored by the majority until Oil has become less expendable than the installation and widespread usage of the Alt. Fuels themselves. ragnarok1945
if so why aren't we fighting for every drop of it right now? In 11 short years every drop of natural oil on the Earth will be gone, according to you
