Wyhe
but by then it'll be too late to do anything about it anyway unless you can invent another form of fuelwell, both solar energy & nuclear power are promising sources that had been made already. ragnarok1945
actually it's been discovered that while we can capture the sun's energy, it takes almost just as much energy (with our current tech) to convert it into usable energy

ragnarok1945
I didn't say anything about the energy not being clean, but you still have to CONVERT it, and that takes energy too
The_Prince_of_Death
right, in order to get energy you have to use some.
ragnarok1945
exactly, and right now our currently tech isn't advanced enough to the point where we can get a lot of energy out without putting much in
The_Prince_of_Death
that's because the government is using it for themselves. they use nuclear power. they really do have a nuclear plant under the pentagon.
ragnarok1945
I already know that, but my point still stands. When it all began, we can put energy in and get nothing out. 50 years later we reached the break even point of getting the same amt of energy out. Right now we're getting more energy out, but it's only slightly more
The_Prince_of_Death
true. it will take years till we can get all of the energy from something with out using any to get it. so far we can only get 50-70% (depending on source) of energy from our energy sources by using less to get them. ragnarok1945
I'm not sure we can EVER reach the point of getting energy out without putting energy in (that has yet to be proven for centuries)
The_Prince_of_Death
If we last that long. I wonder why we dont just use nuclear power to save the rest.
ragnarok1945
the radiation pollution problem is still too great to risk that much exposure to the public
The_Prince_of_Death
very true. but there is a way to contain it and get the energy from it without dangering the public/ecosystem.
ragnarok1945
yeah, but we require a way that is efficient and cheap.
The_Prince_of_Death
for the public no but for the government yes. sometimes its the opposite.
ragnarok1945
care to list a few cases of the opposite then?
The_Prince_of_Death
al gore talking about the polar icecaps melting. He says we sould rely on more solar power or something less polutant to the world than oil, very soon.
ragnarok1945
well the recent studies have shown all the north pole ice caps could melt as early as 2030.
The_Prince_of_Death
correct, but if everyone just stops recycling and goes back to oil, no hybrids, then they could melt as early as 2020 or 2015.
ragnarok1945
also true, and we didn't find that out until just recently. Remember, it wasn't until the late 70s that we discovered the oil supply wasn't as limitless as we thought it was
The_Prince_of_Death
I dont know why but al gore's cartoon about polution is too violent for little kids to watch, and how did he get permission to use the same theme as the simpsons or it. The_Prince_of_Death
I wonder if al gore is recycling or not. If he isnt then we can throw him of a cliff or get an angry mob to chase him.
