I Have Near-Finished Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story Prologue, if anyone can take a look at it to see if their is anything Rule-Breaking or if you have a suggestion, please tell me, because i don't want anything bad to Happen.

hey i have a question (sorry, but im just too lazy to read this entire thread, especially since im on my phone)

 

Why is it that we can't use Script Format?

 

i can't find a logical reason myself. someone enlighten me

 

EDIT: ok so i read the thread and found about script format

 

all i could find was that "it doesn't portray the story effectively" or some sh*t like that....

 

i dont see this as a logical argument. i have two things to say:

 

1) i can understand where this arguments idea came from, but script format, when done properly, can be very effective. and i do understand script format doesn't seem proper for books, but it doesnt matter. not everyone here is trying to be an aspiring writer. they just want to have fun with their made up ideas

2)here is another book in script format, Speak

Then they'll have to change it. Mods will probably lock, if they even care. Also, many won't read it at all. Tell me, would you like it if people didn't like reading your stories?

 

It's better to write it normally like everyone else. Everyone who's good at writing writes normally. Many people who are not good writers tend to use script format, unless they're writing a screenplay. The normal way is, how should I say this...appealing.

#1- Can the DUELS be in script format?

 

#2- What if you already had a fanfic long in the past and that was in script format? Would your rules have to be retroactive, or could I continue writing in the manner it was written in the past?

To be honest, I am a dislexic (hope i spelled that right). I may spell well, but writing and reading normal format can be a stretch for me.

 

And plus, my fanfic, YUGIOH REVELATION, was around long before any of these rules were around.

 

And not to point the finger or falsely mention someone, but even Umbra mentioned in a post that he liked my story at a time.

 

I mean I thought this place was about having fun in the submission of ideals. Not some ridiculous lecture in English Litterature.

 

This place was one of my few escapes from that stuff and now even THIS place has it now.

 

Can you at least be a little less strict on this thing. I know I was gone a LOOOOOONG time (personal isshues)... but I was thinking of posting more chapters and now these new rules are making it 10 times as hard.

 

Can there be a Compromise?

I've said this so many times. This is just like the Advanced Clause effect in the roleplaying section, only it kept the forum just as active. We're not being strict. We're still being reasonable. Script Format is, well.. Lazy, to say the least. The majority of YCM have no handicaps apart from being lazy or having english as a later language, so if we allowed script format again, it would cause the quality to drop again.

 

But that's my opinion.

I skimmed through it. Besides the duel, the dialogue was fine. So why are you complaining that about something that you can do?

But I'm afraid my fanfic's cursed. Someone keeps banning al my readers.

I'LL read it for you! like I should've been doing...

 

Anyways, I'm slightly peeved. Over the past few weeks... and every now and then... people CONTINUOUSLY make new topics for their fics... whenever they make a new chapter. Shouldn't the mods start doing more locking? Just a suggestion, but it may be helpful to teach some kids a lesson.
