The "Negative Levels" Concept

Recommended Posts

Really? I should read your fanfic.

Anyway' date=' they'll probably make more sense as Season 2 progresses.

well Double Attack's effect is discarding a monster so that a lower leveled monster could attack twice. 1 is technically higher than -5, so there you have a high double attacker.

I think that is the first example that bypasses the level requirement situation besides the ones I stated. ^_^

See? These can easily be abused...

Yup,I was just putting down my custom monster for the chapter when I heard the new "Dark Synchros & negative level" thing. Then, I thought it is the best thing I needed here!

This seems like a promising concept. Getting something new is always entertaining and it's better if it's something good. (see the difference between gemini and syncro)

They made it playable (unless they include the dreaded : "This card can't be sp summoned" on this card's effect). Even if you need a high level monster on the field for a dark syncro they made dark tuner catastrophe lv8 AND dark AND 0 atk. (trade in, allure of darkness, limit reverse...)

Remember freezing fitzgerald goes in your extra deck and when it will come out we'll probably have some trouble finding room for dark syncros in our extra deck.

I think they won't make the absolute value ruling because they will want this to sell. Also, I like the idea of being able to summon big monsters with graceful revival or bypass gravity bind.

And did you see the card, everything is awesome : the colors, the creture's art, it's effect...

i highly dought these will come out in ocg let alone tcg but u never know. it would spice up the game more than synchros ever did.

Note: dark tuners might have the abilities to change the Non- dark tuner monsters level. it could possible got negitve making dark synchros just as easy to summon as normal... atleast this is my thiery

What they would probably do is that

A -5 Monster such as Freezing Fitzgerald' date=' would be treated as a +5 monster on the field or graveyard, so it cannot be used in conjunction with cards like Gravity Bind and so on

Yep, that was exactly what I thought they would do. I called it "Absolute Value"

You guys are all assuming that the Dark Synchro ability to get around these cards makes them inherently broken. Batteryman AAA can have 3000 ATK and get's under gravity bind. It's probably easier to get out 3 Batteryman AAAs then it is to get out a Dark Synchro anyways. (Assuming of course that you're running a Batteryman deck and not just randomly splashing 3 into some other deck because you're retarded like that.)

I think it's a neat concept, I just wish they could think of a better name for them.

Yeah. Except that he said "better". Like, "Invert" monsters.

i remember i ruling that might effect this:

any amount or number on a card that can be reduced does not go below 0, that is why you can't use cards like reverse trap to reduce the monster equipped with mage power/ united/ a lot of buff/ etc to have it go below 0 and therefore deal more damage or whatever.

basicly that means the min is "capped" at 0. no less.

but 0 still works for your ideas, doesn't it?

if they dont make dark synchros im gonna make my own using my awesome skills with a program called paint.

chances are, if you are using paint, then those skillz you claim to have arent too awesome.

btw, this was an old thread, no need to bump it from last friday.

and if they didnt make them, how would making your own influence game play?

Why would they make these cards if they weren't going to release Dark Synchros?

Look at the images closely' date=' they were taken from the Anime.

If you can see the images, they would look almost too perfect...too perfect to be the real thing.
