[DISC]Lineage of Destruction

Recommended Posts

This card cannot be used (or, if it is used, will be inferior to Shield Crush) unless your opponent controls a Defense Position monster whose DEF is less than the ATK of a Level 8 Attack Position monster you control and which does not have an effect that will destroy the attacking monster (a-la-Ryko) or (in most cases) that will protect itself (a-la-Spirit Reaper), and your Level 8 Attack Position monster most be capable of attacking and must have an effect that will allow it to benefit from battling with the opponent's monster (as opposed to simply Shield Crushing and attacking over it), and all of these circumstances must occur simultaneously on one of your turns after the turn in which you Set this non-chainable Trap Card.

Of course, this is assuming that you're using your Level 8 monster's first attack to kill the opponent's monster. Otherwise, this card is far easier to use: you simply need to control a Level 8 Attack Position monster capable of attacking while your opponent controls a Defense Position monster which you are capable of (and willing to) destroy, all during one of your turns after the turn in which you Set this non-chainable Trap Card and under circumstances which prohibit cards like Double Attack or Twin Swords of Flashing Light - Tryce from performing this task for you.

...yeah, it's situational.

Ah. The card I was thinking of was Meteor Stream' date=' which pretty much has the activation timing that you described.

They both suck pretty bad. Though technically they are doing double the damage listed, since they're playing with 4000 Life Points.

Characters seem to always play such obscure and idiotic cards.

now, even assuming I am using a level 8 monster as the target of the attack, I would be easyer to use tryce, and that one is an equip, so it stays turn after turn after turn unless it dies or tryce itself is destroyed. while that is likely it has an advantage over this trap, it does not need to wait a turn before I use it.

This card is major eww. You have to wait through your setting turn and your opponent's turn before you can make use of it, and only then if you have a LV8 monster. If that wasn't bad enough, you ALSO need to have destroyed a DEF position monster. So it's either going to get destroyed, or you won't be able to use it. I'd just use Megamorph or Tryce.
