Everything is inevitable

Everything is Determined each and every day you live. Fate decides what time you will wake up. Fate decides wether you will be late for work. Fate decides if you'll get a hot Chick today or live alone for another lifeless 24 Hours. Fate decides if that Train is going to hit you and make you die. Everything me' date=' you and everyone else does is destined to happen, if you can fight Fate then you are better then God.

[/quote']

Hmm.

Alright, so I that also means I'm a puppet that doesn't think and doesn't act because Fate is my puppeteer that tells me what to think and tells me what to do.

Pretty much. For example...let's say you can see into the future and in your vision your shot and killed. That is going to happen and you can't change it because that is fate.

I can decide not to go there.

But you won't know where "there" is until your dead. Trying to take steps to avoid the inevitable won't change the outcome.

If he saw the future he most likely saw the place too, so he can just avoid that place.

You're missing the point. =/

The location has nothing to do with it....the point is that he will get shot and killed.

So, let's say he sees that he gets shot in a bank by robbers. If he doesn't go to the bank but goes to the beach instead, how on earth does he get shot? Does fate arm the sharks with machine guns?

Getting shot isn't even the most ridiculous example. Let's say he sees that he'll get run over by a bus in the street. If he decides to stay in his quiet suburban home instead of going to the city as planned, will fate have that bus randomly drive to his neighborhood and barrel through the wall of his house?

Or if he was supposed to drown at the beach but stayed home, will there be a tsunami? What is he lives three hours away from the beach?

And wouldn't all of these changes alter the lives of everyone else in the world, and thus screw up their fates?

Fate sounds like how you will die. Personally' date=' Destiny seems to be more beivable for me. Destiny isn't tell you that you will be there at that moment, it tells you you will be thereat some point.

In layman's terms:

Fate=Epic Fail

Destiny=[b']Epic Fail as well[/b]

Hmm...perphaps you are correct. EDIT

Wow, a statement as simple as "both are dumb" has completely reversed your view on destiny. Your mind is very easily swayed.

Wait what? Now I'm confused. This....That....Add the 5.....carry the 2.....dot the i.......remove lens cap........cut the blue wire.......load the clip........and the answer is ñ?

Woot. Let's go ahead and end this discussion.

First of all; everything IS determined to happen BEFORE it happens. To every cause is an effect. And whatever happens is the effect of a cause, right?

So if you do something now, that could cause something else to happen that will cause something else to happen that will cause something else to happen... etc... Whatever happens is what was bound to happen anyway because of cause and effect.

Now, contrary to Static's beliefs, free will does exist. You can make the choice yourself; but you'll never be able to control the effects of the choice you made. And the choice you made may manipulate further choices in your life to be what the original choice caused those choices to be.

Cause and effect is what determines our life. Not "fate."

tl;dr: Fate doesn't exist. Cause and effect does. You are making the choices yourself however. But the choices you make were bound to be chosen anyway because of something else that caused you to make those choices.

I am posting this for Benraino:

I believe Fate exists.

Everything you do is based upon preconceived notions and actions done by everyone else. For example' date=' what your parents do affect you. For example” you hate your father: Won’t you try to defy him and become the opposite of him? How did your father become like this? He chose how he acts based upon how he was raised, and so on and so forth. Every part of our identity is shaped by our culture, every decision we make is based on how we want culture to perceive us. Everything we see is based on how we our own perceptions, and then alter how we choose. Free thinking is imprisoned. Indeed, we are only puppets, chasing the sun around axis. We are undoubtedly one; We are connected by one thought, that we are free.[/i']

DEFY FUTURE

If you see yourself get shot and killed in a vison. Kill yourself with a knife' date=' and you have defyed future.

Good Day.

Your "vision" was basically a dream and doesn't affect the real world at all. Way to kill yourself over superstition.

There was an angel YCM Member once called SOS Haruhi, who thought, "Well, I'mve got hentai, porn, and MOAR hentai beautiful, popular, and strong. I should be God the biggest Pervert of the YCM." Guess what happened to him? You can't be better than God. I will argue this until my grave. He now gets laid by hot bunny girls 24/7

No, I do not believe in fate, but I know God orders my footsteps and I will follow Him until I see his face again. So the moral to this story is, be a pervert and buy MANY hookers, and your in hevan baby.

Fixed to my liking.

You're still talking about locations. If the guy who shoots him is a hitman do you think staying in the same place is gonna help him? Also how the hell the is he suppose to know what exact time and day he get's shot? Again. How is he suppose to know the day? If your logic is right then he has already disproven the fact that is gonna get ran over by a bus and then what does he do.....he walks outside and get's ran over by a bus.

Or if he was supposed to drown at the beach but stayed home, will there be a tsunami? What is he lives three hours away from the beach?

Well since fate doesn't exist then he should have to worry about now does he? He will go to the beach anyways because he believes fate doesn't exist.

IF it was a hitman he can go hide himself somewhere. IF it was his wife he could escape somewhere she wouldn't find him or lock her up because she won't be there to shot him right?

I'd go on but I'm seriously tired =/

Yes, you're right he knows it's gonna happen but he doesn't know when. Also.....depends on how much the hitman is getting paid. As for the thing with the wife.....well she probally wants to shoot him because he locked her up/ran away.

But i'm not here to try to trash your believes (or lack of them). I was just trying to give another point of view if you catch my drift. So i'll just leave it at that.

Pseudo-science is defined as unprovable scientific methods and observations…so you guys make a thread discussing whether a pseudo-science is fake or real.

All it's going to turn into is a few crappy hypothetical situations and bad philosophies. It doesn't matter what happens, people who believe in fate will call it so. They even go as far as to say "Fate let you defy fate." in some situations. Some people can't be reasoned with, so this will only become a back and forth quote tower.

Well I think there is some sort of 'fate' that everyone has. There is always something that people HAVE to do in order to die or so I believe. Everything has its consequences and it's those consquences that shape other people's 'fates'. So it's more of a series of causes and effects of the causes :D
