Card A or B?

  1. 1. Card A or B?

Recommended Posts

We both were bored =P There's the reason. The task was to make a Plant-Type Dragon monster. We both seemed to make a Synchro, though... =P

Here are the cards:

[spoiler=Card A]

mkjcio.jpg

1 Dragon-Type Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner Plant-Type Monsters

As long as this card remains face-up on the field, neither player may skip their Battle Phase and must attack with at least 1 monster per turn. If they cannot, Special Summon 1 "Merciless Plant Token", (Plant-Type/Level 2/EARTH/ATK ?/DEF ?) to their side of the field, and continue the Battle Phase. The ATK and DEF of a "Merciless Plant Token" is equal to the number of cards in its controllers Graveyard x 200.

[spoiler=Card B]

1 Plant-Type Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner Dragon-Type monsters

This card is also treated as a Dragon-Type monster. During your opponent's Battle Phase, you can change the battle position of 1 face-up monster your opponent controls. If it is changed in Attack Position, it must attack this card during the turn you activate this effect. Each time this card destroyes a monster by battle, decrease the ATK of 1 monster on your opponent's field by 400.

Due to Icyblue's request, when you judge the cards, don't care about the OCG so much.

Prize: 2 reps from the loser

End date: 3rd Febuary

Vote.

Card A's effect is more unique and interesting, Card B's pic is better. I hate not being able to grade on OCG, but I will honor Icy's request.

All-in-all, I think Card A is a better card. ~Votes for A~

Card A. Neither are very original, but A has more actual uses.

Still, the rulings for card A are complicated to figure out;: namely, the activation timing. If at the end of Main Phase 1, the player does not controls monsters, I'm not sure if they can enter the Battle Phase. If so, summoning the Token does not "continue" a Phase that never actually began. As such, I'd recommend rewording the effect - as it is, it seems to trigger during the BP, when the opponent cannot attack with any monsters (or he would have to, if he could). However, if they are unable to enter the BP, this effect would never trigger. Add "at the end of Main Phase 1" or something, that's my piece of advice.

@Blackwind: Haha rulings will be covered/finalized when either of us get around to fixing it.

@under: Lets see you balance that while keeping intent and not being horribly underpowered. (PM me or God Duelist on this).

I don't care sheet about OCG, now. Tryin' to be a stickler to such has begotten problems for me. Now, the cards.

One's reminiscent of All-Out Attacks (not banworthy, oh no) and would've been better off as a generic Synchro; the other is reminiscent of Jutte Fighter (somewhat) and would've been better off as a generic Synchro. The winner of this 1-on-1, then, will be based upon which is faster to summon, as well as which effect induces more damage...

... Card A wins.
