Βyakuya
Well, with a desert scene, they're bound to do it to replace the Rock types. It was also confirmed there was a honeycomb that reminded me of Combees and Vespiquens, it would also be a god place around for Bug types!

Βyakuya
Also, I was thinking about Reshiram and Zekrom. I was playing this old video game about ninjas, relating to two deities, Yin and Yang. Yin is the collected hatred of all people into a spirit. Yang is a kept good within people. Reshiram and Zekrom are related to that, while Reshiram is on the Pokemon Black cover while Zekrom is on the White, like total opposites of true good and true evil. Anyone agree? Flame Dragon
If I recall correctly' date=' Gen II didn't have a Rock Gym at all. So if Rock is going to be a Gym in Gen V, it's most likely going to be the first one. For the three starters, I think their finals types will be Grass/Psychic, Fire/Ground and Water/Ice. I don't know why I think that. <_>[/quote'] Gen II had Brock. iirc, I think Gen II had a Gym for every type. No, no. Kanto, although part of Gen II, has all the Gen I Gym Leaders. I know what you mean, as GSC had the Rock-gym, but Johto itself did not. Oh, well then you're correct. Gen II would be the only Gen without a Rock Gym. I really don't want it to be the first Gym again though, I want the Rock Gym to be hard this time. The only time the Rock Gym was ever slightly difficult was in R/B/Y.The reason Gen II worked like that was because it took all the types not used for a gym in Gen I and made them gyms in Gen II. The reason Dark didn't get one was because we had 17 types. I don't know' date=' but I think Rock types won't exactly as the first gym, since it happened 3 times. I think most gyms will involve Ground types because they were never featured in Gym Battles or the Elite Four, only accept for Bertha. The rest would be Poison, Bug, Dark, Fire, Normal, Grass, and Flying types since they haven't been featured.[/quote']The 8th gym in Gen I and the remakes was the ground gym. We've had 2 Grass, Fire, Normal, and Flying gyms which is good since that means half of the gens have had them. And if you really think about it only 3 since, as I said, Gen II was them getting the other types meaning no gyms could be in all 4 gens. It is a very safe assumtion to make that the first gym will be a Rock gym and that we will have no Dark gym. Electric is also a very likely gym since I think that is the only other one that has been in all 3 Gens.
Eury
Plus the facts that Dark got a spot in the E4 and there were only 5 Dark types back then. iirc, Umbreon, Murkrow, Houndour, Houndoom and Tyranitar. I have come to realize that Linoone is one of the sexiest Pokemon in existence bar Absol.

Also, another fun fact I've seen while running through the list of Gyms and E4 members. Side from Gen I the E4 has always had a different type then the Gym of that Gen. Having it in every gen to this point kind of locks it into being in every new gen. Same goes for us not having a Dark gym. Still, I know they could easily break the pattern. The E4 looks like it would be a cool on. Side from Gen I and IV the Champ has had a set type for their team, so you can't say for sure that it will be miscellaneous (it's spelt right BTW). Hell, Gen III had two champs and both a type theme. O, another fun fact I've found. All champs have had a Water pokemon, side from Steven. And, ironically, he gets replaced by a water trainer. Βyakuya
Basically, though Rock is needed, its been popping up all over Gen's 1rst, 3rd, and 4th gyms. Maybe its because since we're beginner trainers, we need to hit a gym that is easy and has lots of weaknesses, and are prone to most types like Grass and Water. Unlike Gen 2, they had Flying types. So they need to support the types of pokemon found in the area to support the nearby gym.
Felix
I don't like the Fire, Grass, Water Elite Four at all. Grass would be a good elite four guy but I doubt we'll get Fire and I hope not Water. Presuambly one gym or member of the E4 is going to have Zoroark. Or it'll apear during the story as an enemy. Grass, Ghost, Steel, Normal and Various for the champion?

Felix
No single type, but the common bolt beam combo covers all three. There's nothing resistant to Water/Grass/Fire but there are a bunch of neutrals.

Even though Reshiram didn't turn out to be Light, there is still always the possibility of a new type. If Light was real i reckon this would be what it's effective against.
