This card cannot be Special Summoned except by Tributing 1 Level 1 Normal Monster that has remained face-up on your side of the field for 10 or more of your turns. If this card battles with an opponent's monster, until the end of the Damage Step, it gains ATK and DEF equal to the ATK of the opponent's monster + 1000 and that monster's effect(s) is negated. This was made specifically to be regarded as junk in the anime.

So yeah.

Or, at least it was disturbingly powerful (like a God card), but so hard to summon that it was nearly impossible, and no one ever succeeded because, as explicitly pointed out, duels rarely even last as long as required, and protecting a weak monster for so long was nearly impossible, even in a dedicated deck.

And the card was common. It must have been common because everyone knew it existed because they all had one, and despite being a junk card (everyone has one, no one ever can use it), half the audience to a major tournament CARRIED ONE WITH THEM. That was possibly the weirdest part of the whole duel, topped only by everyone in the audience abruptly cheering for Team Taiyou. I don't know, when you go to spectate a major duel tournament, even when played on motorbikes, do you carry a lot of cards? And if so, would you carry a card easily classified as "pure junk", just in case someone beats all odds and is the first to summon it?

Obviously, everyone in the anime is stupid. But we already knew that. Also, this cards name will be changed when released in the TCG.
