Darkness Irregular - Shadow Maiden

Lv 3 DARK

Fiend/Effect

While you control no face-up monsters, you can Special Summon this card from your hand. You can attach this card from either your hand or your side of the field to a DARK Xyz Monster you control. You can only activate this effect of "Darkness Irregular - Shadow Maiden" once per turn. While this card is attached to a DARK Xyz Monster as a Xyz Material, the Xyz Monster gains the following effect.

* Once per turn: this card cannot be destroyed as a result of battle.

While this card is attached to a DARK Xyz Monster as a Xyz Material, the Xyz Monster gains the following effect.

* This card cannot be targeted or destroyed by your opponents Trap cards.

When this card is Normal Summoned: you can Special Summon 1 "Darkness Irregular" monster from either your deck or graveyard to your side of the field. You can attach this card from either your hand or your side of the field to a DARK Xyz Monster you control. You can only activate this effect of "Darkness Irregular - Sage of Taboo's" once per turn. While this card is attached to a DARK Xyz Monster as a Xyz Material, the Xyz Monster gains the following effect.

* This card cannot be targeted or destroyed by your opponents Spell Cards.

While you control another DARK monster except "Darkness Irregular - Devil of Despair", this card cannot be targeted for an attack. Increase the ATK of all DARK monsters by 500. You can attach this card from either your hand or your side of the field to a DARK Xyz Monster you control. You can only activate this effect of "Darkness Irregular - Devil of Despair" once per turn. While this card is attached to a DARK Xyz Monster as a Xyz Material, Increase that Xyz monsters ATK by 1000.

Darkness Irregular - Soul Eater

While you control a DARK Xyz Monster and your opponent controls a monster, you can Special Summon this card from your hand, if you do: you can target 1 monster your opponent controls; attach this card and targeted monster to 1 DARK Xyz monster you control as Xyz Materials. You can only activate this effect of "Darkness Irregular - Soul Eater" once per turn.

Darkness Irregular - Necro Fiend

You can attach this card from either your hand, graveyard or your side of the field to a DARK Xyz Monster you control. You can only activate this effect of "Darkness Irregular - Necro Fiend" once per turn. While this card is attached to a DARK Xyz Monster as a Xyz Material the Xyz Monster gains the following effect.

* Once per turn: When this card destroys a monster as a result of battle; you can Special Summon the destroyed monster to your side of the field in face-up defence position, if you do: the summoned monsters becomes DARK attribute and its Level or Rank becomes 3.

Darkness Irregular - Demise Lord

2 or more Level 3 "Darkness Irregular" monsters (Max 5.)

Once per turn: you can detach 2 Xyz Materials from this card; destroy all monsters your opponent controls, then, inflict 500 points of damage for each monster destroyed by this effect. Once per turn: you can detach 3 or more Xyz Material from this card; banish cards on your opponents side of the field face-down equal to the number of Xyz Materials detached from this card. You can only activate this effect of "Darkness Irregular - Demise Lord" once per turn. If this card battles a defence position monster, inflict piercing battle damage.

Darkness Irregular - Chaos Overlord

Rank 10 DARK

Fiend/Xyz/Effect

Must be Xyz Summoned by using 1 DARK Xyz monster you control with 5 or more Xyz Materials attached to it as a Xyz Material (Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on this card) and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. This cards ATK and DEF become equal to the number of Xyz Materials attached to this card times 500. If this card destroys a monster as a result of battle, attached the destroyed monster to this card as a Xyz Material instead. Once per turn, you can detach any number of Xyz Materials from this card; banish cards from the top of your opponents deck face-down, then, increase this cards ATK and DEF by 500 for each card banished this way. If this card were to be destroyed (either by battle or by card effect), you can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card instead.

Target 1 DARK Xyz Monster you control; attach up to 2 "Darkness Irregular" monsters from your graveyard to the targeted monster as Xyz Materials.

 

Gate of the Shadow Realm

Spell Card

Special Summon 1 "Darkness Irregular" monster from your deck to your side of the field. You can only activate "Gate of the Shadow Realm" once per turn.

 

Dark Regeneration

Spell Card

Target 1 DARK Xyz Monster from your graveyard; Special Summon the targeted monster to your side of the field, then, attach this card and 1 "Darkness Irregular" from your graveyard to the summoned monster as Xyz Materials.

 

Darkness Soul Blast

Spell Card

Target 1 DARK Xyz Monster you control: inflict damage to your opponent equal to the number of Xyz Materials attached to that card times 300. If the targeted monster has 3 or more "Darkness Irregular" monsters attached to it as Xyz Materials; inflict damage to your opponent times the number of Xyz Materials attached to that card times 500 instead. You can only activate "Darkness Soul Blast" once per turn.

I LOVE IT!

Im a dark irregulars main in CFV if you hadnt noticed xD

Anyway, the card concept of the archetype is amazing, it resembles the soul charging aspect via Xyz Units which is a good concept.

 

So, the monsters themselves are not very strong, which is also an aspect of DI iirc, so that's good. I love the strict structure of the monsters:
Special Summon effect - > Generic put into soul - > Additional Effect

It's really nice and helps me understand the cards themselves quite easily. However, since they are all so similar, the best ones and the worst ones can be separated quite easily, but in this case, the deck molds around the meta very nicely as each card is unique and protects against different decks, warranting each one a place in the side deck in most metas! very nice idea.

 

although, sage of taboo's is a bit above the rest in pretty much every way but every archetype has one of those i guess.

Necro Fiend is unique and is actually infinite xyz material for stuff like Bramm and other DARK xyzs, which is an interesting interaction,

 

Demise lord is interesting.... You shouldve added more flavor though, most of the DIs boss effects are only active at X amount of soul, which is what shouldve been the case with this card since it's effect is simply too powerful currently. You're opponent will probably not be able to react to it's summon due to the xyz material protection also which is something to consider so you should probably make it active at 3 minimum or 5 if you want to be careful.

 

Chaos overlord just isnt as good of a boss as i would expect to be honest, and it's effect conflicts with Necro Fiends which is another thing to consider.

 

The S/T and monsters in general are very OTK orientated and quick to finish a game from the looks of things, which is another flavor point.

Made edits on Demise and Chaos...

 

Demise has a extra ability to banish cards on the field face-down equal to 3 or more Xyz Materials you detached.

 

Chaos can banish the top cards of your opponents deck face-down equal to the number of detached Xyz Materials then gains ATK and DEF to retain its stats.
