[AGM] Moth Princess - Let moths spread until the dawn

Insect-Type monsters that focus on high Level spam and inhibiting the opponent once they get themselves onto the field. They have a bunch of low Levels that can Tribute themselves quickly for higher Levels, similar to Edea/Eidos. Their support cards are what Insects need to be good; being generic enough to search any Insect monster and do whatever. The main problem with these cards; they're vulnerable to all forms of removal and they rely on being the highest Level/Rank on the field to remain powerful; otherwise they shrink.

There will be more to come and edits can/will be made.

LORE:While the Level/Rank of all other monsters on the field are lower than this card's Level, your opponent cannot Special Summon monsters. If this card battles a Special Summoned monster: You can increase this card's ATK and DEF by 1000 until the end of the Damage Step, but your opponent takes no Battle Damage from a battle involving this card.

LORE:If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: During your Main Phase this turn, you can Normal Summon 1 "Moth Princess" monster, in addition to your Normal Summon/Set. (You can only gain this effect once per turn.) While you control no monsters: You can banish this card from your Graveyard; Special Summon 1 "Moth Princess" monster with a different name from your hand or Graveyard. You can only activate this effect of "Petit Moth Princess" once per turn. The ATK and DEF of Level and higher monsters Special Summoned by this effect are halved.

LORE:While you control a face-up "Moth Princess" monster with a different name: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. This card can be treated as 2 Tributes for the Tribute Summon of an Insect-Type monster.

LORE:While you control no monsters: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. When this card is Normal Summoned: You can add 1 "Moth Princess" Spell/Trap Card from your Graveyard to your hand.

LORE:You can Tribute this card; Special Summon 1 "Moth Princess" monster with a different name from your Deck.

LORE:While the Level/Rank of all other monsters on the field are lower than this card's Level, your opponent cannot add cards (anywhere) to their hand by card effects. Once per turn: You can target 1 "Moth Princess" monster with a different name in your Graveyard; add it to your hand.

LORE:While the Level/Rank of all other face-up monsters on the field are lower than this card's Level, your opponent cannot conduct their Battle Phase. You can send this card from your hand or face-up on your side of the field to the Graveyard; add 1 "Moth Princess" Spell/Trap Card from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand. You can only activate this effect of "Lunar Moth Princess" once per turn.

LORE:While the Level/Rank of all other monsters on the field are lower than this card's Level, your opponent cannot activate any monster effects on the field. You can Tribute Summon this card in face-up Attack Position by Tributing 1 Insect-Type monster. If this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle: You can Special Summon it to your side of the field as an Insect-Type monster, but its original ATK is halved.

LORE:While the Level/Rank of all other monsters on the field are lower than this card's Level, your opponent cannot activate Spell Cards or effects. Once per turn: You can banish 1 Insect-Type monster from your hand or Graveyard to target 1 Insect-Type monster you control; it gains 800 ATK and DEF until your next Standby Phase.

[spoiler=Show Spell Cards]

LORE:You can discard 1 Insect-Type monster; add 1 Insect-Type monster with a different name from your Deck to your hand. You can only activate this effect of "Moth Princess Glow" once per turn. Level 5 and higher Insect-Type monsters gain 300 ATK and DEF.

zbjZAHd.jpg

LORE:The equipped monster gains 500 ATK and DEF and is treated as an Insect-Type monster. A monster with the original Type Insect equipped with this card cannot be destroyed or banished by your opponent's card effects.

uZGGhnJ.jpg

LORE:Insect-Type monsters cannot be targeted by your opponent's card effects. Once per turn, during either player's turn, if an Insect-Type monster you control is destroyed (either by battle or by card effect): You can increase your Life Points by 1000.

[spoiler=Show Trap Cards]

ZJ8YMZW.jpg

LORE:When this card is activated: You can send 1 Insect-Type monster from your hand or side of the field to the Graveyard to target 1 card on the field; banish it. Once per turn: You can shuffle up to 3 of your banished Insect-Type monsters into your Deck; draw 1 card.

Gc3rcjg.jpg

LORE:When this card is activated: You can Special Summon 1 Insect-Type monster from your hand or Graveyard, and if you do: Pay 1000 Life Points. Once per turn: You can destroy 1 Insect-Type monster you control; inflict damage to your opponent equal to the destroyed monster's ATK.

Alright, I've got time to make some hay on these cards-let's begin.

[spoiler=Moth Princess Monsters]

3OeUrdo.jpg

Level-based Summon lock and to-near-3000 boosts on a Level 6 1900 body. One that Pinch Hopper, and/or Insect Imitation/Primitive Butterfly can summon with ease. Actually impressed to see a Main Deck boss for Insects that isn't too....xenophobic. More of this plz.

Gb87foZ.jpg

Now we;'re getting into the Archtype's weeds. This, unfortunately, may only be used to Tribute Summon that Preistess, because slapping out a 300 ATK monster on the field with no other sort of protection is usually not a good idea-unless its a tuner, in which case, roll it (e.g. Superheavy Samurai Trumpeter). But its not, so....

Oh yeah, may wish to place up that effect so that it only works if its Normal or Special Summoned during your Main Phase-the wording here is a tad off.

qGmrU0z.jpg

Oooh, so this is where the Heroic Challenger Halberd went. 1700 ATK, so that's modest. 2 Tributes to summon Earthbound Immortal Uru with so much ease (also Malicious Moth Princess, but that has its own easier Summoning methods, so...) Might make Insect Synchros better to main, even. Underground Arachnid is some next-level Relinquished s**t. (may need Infernoid Beetle for that, though.)

xLdEo76.jpg

Also works on an empty field, and brings you a Moth Princess back rower if you Normal Summon it. Nice all around. Especially if you use it to grab Moth Princess Glow. It'll work wonders with the Traptrix too. again, though it runs into the same problem as PMP: no way to properly work it unless you have another Level 2 Insect handy, Which is fine, but it makes the card weird.

lrKzoim.jpg

Oooh, Archetype-locked Lonefire Blossom. But I'm curious, why make the other ones so awkward in terms of Level ability with little Extra Deck support (unless that was the point, in which case, praying for more Rank 1-2 Xyzes.) But this gets out the Malicious and Priestess, which are fine, since this has no HOPT at all, and can spin up copies if you're up for that Xyz magic. Seriously, this and Minion are the first 2 monsters I'm looking at with a "minimum of 3" potential built right in.

cRzBZG3.jpg

The Level-based lock returneth, this time in the form of a walking Mistake with Graveyard scooping. May actually run Insect Imitation just to scoop out copies of this and refresh my hand. S'like Shopina, the black swan of the Melodious Maestras.

2200 ATK ain't something to sneeze at either tho.

Ect7ewe.jpg

This...may pose a bit of a problem. Yes, this has no ATK. Yes it's Level 4 so a lot of decks can get over it easy. But nuking the Battle Phase on there being only Level 3 or lower monsters on the field is the world's riskiest bet. At least it can replace itself with a backrow Moth Princess if it sacrifices itself. And it works from the hand, so primary Elegant Moth Princess target!!

cAVbDVU.jpg

And finally, we have the heavy hitting boss. Supercharged Majesty's Fiend and Goyo Predator, AND it can Normal Summon with 1 fewer Tribute. Okay, this might be what the Petit one summons, while letting the Level 4s float with the Imitation. Locking down Monster effects is huge, so much so I'd rather it be limited-maybe to monsters on the field, or in the hand and Graveyard, but not everywhere.

Am liking the pattern of the Moth Princesses tho. Small and quirky, but brutal and effective if you play control, to keep control. If you're not leaving them out there on their lonesome though.

And now for....

[spoiler=Moth Princess Spells/Traps]

hFggGbA.jpg

Oooooh. Tutoring Insects can help so many Decks (Digital Bugs and Inzektors, especially). And an accumulative stat boost for them too? That accumulates? Shoot, I may put two of them on the field for that alone, even if their first effects are HOPT.

zbjZAHd.jpg

An Equip Spell? Huh. Super protection, of course, because that's nice. And a change to Insect Type (to make that Insect Barrier live again, eh?) 500 ATK and DEF could soup up Priestess and Malicious well, though.

Also, nice target for Hidden Armory, since several of these monsters can be Special Summoned. Also, Insect Imitation.

ZJ8YMZW.jpg

Activation goes into targeted banishment by an Insect sacrifice: will work for the surprisingly wide base of field-to-Grave triggered Insect effects (Resonance Insect, Informant Spider, Pinch Hopper) and returns your Graveyard-dwelling Insects for hand power, Pot of Avidity (I refuse to use the new name) style. Really, this is what's probably going into every Insect Deck going forward-you could make it a stand-alone and it'd have this power.

Think of everything that this Deck can do, and now add in Daigusto Emeral the Trap, but for Insects.

This is the gold standard of Insect support and why I stopped to give a full review, ol' Nyx. Enjoy it well.

Thank you! Altered Petit Moth Princess, limit Malicious Moth Princess to the field, and added a new monster; Insincere Moth Princess.
