  1. Hi there! So I have pretty much moved on from this game, but it still hold a place in my heart, and I do sometimes feels the itch of making cards. I suppose that after having done it for most of my life, that still lingers, and while I don't post them here, I do make custom MTG cards sometimes, so that's still there. Anyway, that's does lead a little bit into this here archetype, you see, in Magic, treefolk like to have big butts and attack with their butts, so I figured I would make something like that here, and also I felt like making something to do with discarding, so yeah, that's the main other theme. It's all about having higher DEF than ATK, which of course they all do, but they care about other Plants also having that. Now, I have no idea how the game has progressed since last time I checked in, which was like three years ago at this point, so these might be mediocre, I tried to make them the way I used to, so in my memory, they are not too powerful, but fun to play with and offer an idea that is at least somewhat unique. It's been a long time, so my PSCT is probably pretty rusty, I am sure I am getting my phrasing and such wrong, since I am mixing how Magic writes its text and what I remember from years ago. There aren't any images this time, and the theme is rather simple, but this was made in about and hour or so, since I just got the itch and the flow state came back, so it's just text, hope that's acceptable, I don't know what the vibe is for custom cards these days. Monsters: Woodfall Dead Root Plant/FIRE Level 1 If you control no monsters, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). If Summoned this way: Discard 1 card, then if the discarded card is a Plant monster with DEF higher than its ATK, you can return another Plant monster from your GY to your hand. If this card is in your GY: You can banish this card and 1 other Plant monster from your GY; Special Summon 1 "Woodfall" monster from your hand or GY in Defense Position. You can only use this effect of "Woodfall Dead Root" once per turn. 0/1000 Woodfall Spark Bark Plant/FIRE Level 3 If this card is Summoned or another Plant monster(s) with DEF higher than its ATK is Summoned to your field: You can discard 1 card, change the battle position of 1 monster on the field, then if the discarded card is a Plant monster with DEF higher than its ATK, you can return another Plant monster from your GY to your hand. You can discard 1 Plant monster; add 1 "Woodfall" card from your Deck to your hand, except "Woodfall Spark Bark". You can only use each effect of "Woodfall Spark Bark" once per turn. 1000/1500 Woodfall Sizzliing Fruit Plant/FIRE Level 4 If this card or another Plant monster(s) you control is destroyed while in face-up Defense Position: You can discard 1 card; return this card or 1 of the destroyed monsters to your hand OR if the discarded card is a Plant monster with DEF higher than its ATK, Special Summon this card or 1 of the destroyed monsters from your GY in face-up Defense Position instead. If this card is discarded: You can target 1 Plant monster you control; this turn that target can attack while in face-up Defense Position, and it inflict battle damage equal to its DEF instead of their ATK. You can only use each effect of "Woodfall Sizzling Fruit" once per turn. 1300/1700 Woodfall Burning Leaves Plant/FIRE Level 5 You can target "Woodfall" monster in your GY; discard 1 card, and if you do, return that target to your hand OR if the discarded card was a Plant monster with DEF higher than its DEF, Special Summon that monster in face-up Defense Position instead. If this card is discarded: Special Summon 1 "Woodfall Token" (Plant/FIRE/Level 2/ATK 500/DEF 1000) in Defense Position. You can only use each effect of "Woodfall Burning Leaves" once per turn. 1300/2200 Woodfall Great Oldoak Plant/FIRE Level 7 You can Tribute Summon this card from 1 less Tribute by Tributing a Plant monster whose DEF is higher than its ATK. If this card is Normal Summoned: You can discard 1 card; change this card's battle position, then if the discarded card is a Plant monster with DEF higher than its ATK, you can return another Plant monster from your GY to your hand. Once per turn (Quick Effect): You can discard 1 card; this turn, Plant monsters can attack while in face-up Defense Position, and they inflict battle damage equal to their DEF instead of their ATK, then if the discarded card is a Plant monster with DEF higher than its ATK, all Plant monsters you control gain 500 DEF until end of turn. 1500/2500 Spells/Traps: Woodfall Wither Quick-Play Spell Special Summon 2 "Woodfall Tokens" (Plant/FIRE/Level 2/ATK 500/DEF 1000) in Defense Position, then you can discard 1 Plant monster whose DEF is higher than its ATK, and if you do, return this card from your GY to your hand during the next Standby Phase. Activate only this card if you discarded a card this turn. Woodfall Spring Continuous Spell If this card is activated, if Plant monster whose DEF is higher than its ATK you discarded this turn: You can draw 1 card. Each time you discard a Plant monster(s) whose DEF is higher than its ATK, put a Spring Counter on this card for each of discarded. You can remove 3 Spring Counters from this card; draw 3 cards, then discard 2 cards OR discard 1 Plant monster. You can only use each effect of "Woodfall Spring" once per turn. Woodfall Emergency Normal Trap Discard any number of Plant monsters; for each monster whose DEF is higher than its ATK you discarded, draw that many cards, then negate the effects of face-up cards your opponent controls up to the number of monsters discarded this way until the end of this turn. If a Plant monster whose DEF is higher than its ATK you discarded while this card is in your GY: You can Set this card from your GY. You can only activate 1 "Woodfall Emergency" per turn.

I don't know, but I don't think it has anything to do with me being on this site for a decade (which is actually longer than that, since this wasn't my original account.)

  10. I begun work on a new archetype today. Maybe I will actually finish it?

  11. yugioh is fine i guess, but magic, i like that more tbh, i am even in a tournament right now which is kinda fun

    1. Lone mouse

      Lone mouse

I have a friend who plays magic but I personally have no idea how its played granted as a yugioh can't really complain about games being hard to learn

    2. Horu

      Horu

I think the hardest part of Magic is remembering the new keywords/phrases. Aside from that, the game is pretty basic. Drop 1 land per turn, tap x number of lands to summon a creature of cast a spell, rinse and repeat. Tap creature to either attack or block (if possible). Power is ATK and Toughness is HP. You still take any remaining damage. That about sums it up.

    3. Kokoroshi

      Kokoroshi

I play Yugioh, Magic, Pokémon, and the Dragonball card games and yugioh is still my favorite of the 4. But all of them are fun, they do kill my wallet though.
