Should americans keep the right to carry guns?

Statistically, the only major change that guns cause is the massive increase in suicides that result from them.

 

They don't increase crime, criminals carry illegal weapons.

 

Guns laws prohibit law abiding citizens from being able to protect themselves, especially from the possible danger of martial law.

 

Every citizen should be entitled to own weapons; if our army carries it, I should be able to as well.

Yes they should, if they are robbed of the right to carry firearms, they will end up nothing more than weaklings under control, of Gov't, Military or other generic forces.

If we're going by this stupid "ZOMG NO WEAPONS SO THAT WE ARE TEH SAFE!" attitude, we'd eventually end up in the hospital, because hands, feet, and teeth would be banned for being weapons. We'd essentially be a torso laying on the ground with an IV in us (because bed sheets can suffocate/strangle and any type of support can be used as a bludgeon). We'd evenutally all die when the IV needles were declared weapons and banned too.

in the event that some one trys to choke some one else to death in the street, at least twelve people are going to go over and try to stop it, 9.8 times out of ten, they succede. so hands feet and teeth would not be made against the law.

People that cannot control their anger to the point that they would shoot someone are dangerous individuals with problems. They should either be confined to a correctional facility, or executed. This is why you let the people keep their rights.

 

It's the same concept when it comes to drugs and which you declare is illegal.

 

The ones you declare is illegal you get more and more people doing it (some simply for the thrill of it all). You change the law and legalize it, the number suddenly drops.

 

With guns it'll be the same way, take away the right to have weapons will succeed in nothing but increase the number of people who will have them illegally.
