[DISC] Magic Drain

Personally, i think this card is 2nd best next to solemn in the general counter trap department. Since no matter what happens its always a 0.

 

You would think with the lack of trap cards being ran; this card would at least be sided (if your to poor to get solemn).

seems resonalbe enough to side it if you don't have solemn its only down side is not having an effect on traps but with a 1 card discard instead of a life point cut it seems okay.

I've always liked the fact that it's a 1 for 1 either way, but you can't be reliant on it. When I run it, I usually just spring it on the first spell I see them play =P

it isn't that much better for spell neging, but unlike dark bribe it can't stop traps, so dark bribe is better in the end.

Certainly one of the most ingenious designs in the entire Counter-Trap roster.

 

But among the most powerful? No.

Unlike most Counter Traps, it will not always actually negate the card you are trying to stop. Being a guaranteed +0 is nice, but that +0 isn't much consolation when you can't actually stop your opponent's winning moves.

 

Dark Bribe is better.

It's good, but you're opponent can discard any Spell Card to negate it.

Then again, your Opponent gets a -1...

I detest Dark Bribe; whenever an opponent uses it on me, I win within the next turn courtesy of the extra draw.

You'd think I'd play better players, but the trouble is, the better players never run Bribe.

I put two and two together.

 

This card's design is genius; if it would work on Traps, I'd love it.
