Japan, 2002

A rich pedophile kidnaps a senile man. This man's grandson, a spikey-haired teenager, buys a Yugi Starter Deck and tries to save the world with it.

Meanwhile, a rich kid buys a Kaiba Starter Deck and goes annoying the first kid.

Which of these was best?

Yugi's deck was pretty much confirmed to be the better of the two by my friends. We played like 20 duels and we would trade off. Yugi's deck won around 13 of those 20.

Yugi's deck.

Kaiba's only good level 4s were La Jinn and Battle Ox. Yugi's had Mystic Elf, Giant Soldier of Stone, Wall of Illusion, Neo the Magic Swordsman, and Man Eater Bug.

Kaiba's entire level 5 through 6 line was crap. Yugi had Summoned Skull.

Dark Magician paled in comparison to Blue Eyes though.

Other holos. Yugi's had cards that are still used even today. Soul Exchange, Card Destruction. What did Kaiba get? Flute of Summoning Dragon.

Overall, not counting cards that repeat, Kaiba's deck brought us 3 debatably good cards (Axe Raider, La Jinn, Blue Eyes), while Yugi brought us 11. (Mystic Elf, Summoned Skull, Giant Soldier of Stone, Wall of Illusion, Neo the Magical Swordsman, Change of Heart, Last Will, Waboku, Soul Exchange, Card Destruction, Man Eater Bug.) Yugi wins.
