For now, Lifetrancer is outdone by DSF in every possible way. More ATK and a much better effect. Magical Android is the only generic Level 5 Synchro in the TCG until we get that Ally of Justice Synchro whose name I forget. Until then, Magical Android is fine for a Level 5 Synchro. That is all. Thought Ruler is always a good choice for a Level 8 Synchro because it can't be hit by things that would be the vain of the existence of many other Synchros. TRA can stop itself from being hit by cards like Phoenix Wing Wind Blast or Compulsory Evacuation Device. The lollifepoint increase isn't all bad with TRA as whatever it runs over in battle is able to pay for the cost of its own effect. Hyper Psychic Blaster is just bad. It is just a lolbeatstick that has specific requirements that require dedication and for just a lolbeatstick at that. Oh and if your Decking out with LS, you're running it wrong. Reminds me of a story. At my locals I was playing this guy and his cookie cutter LS with my Monarch build. It was 1-1. Within the first few turns he had a full monster line up and was dropping like 7 cards per turn. But it sucks for him that he milled his both Angels and had no way to get them back. C.F.Yuji
I wouldn't say your using LS wrong if you deck out with them, Your opponent could be pulling a annoying Combo like Bawnji on Tag Force 3, Finding ways to keep monsters on the field so you can't get to his LP, Stalling etc., And eventually running out of cards. Killey
With the new support that Psychics have been receiving lately I believe they have the tools to defeat LS but it's an uphill battle for them against LS. I think 3-2 LS will beat Psychics but as more and more support come out for them (which is very possible since they are a TYPE and not a Theme like LS) I can see them becoming a more formidable force. Psychics essentially have 6 Solemn Judgments, which is far too good to pass up in the Deck. Yes, Mind Over Matter makes you tribute a Psychic monster thus decreasing your field presence but look at the multitude of ways that Psychic can field swarm. Teleport, Emergency Teleport, Brain Explotation Research Lab, Psychic Tuning, Telekinetic Power Well, Overdrive Teleporter, Return from the Different Dimension. That's 8 different ways that they can field swarm, which is incredibly impressive for a single type. They have some of the fastest ways to Synchro Summon giving them more quick pushes and versatility. They can clear the backrow with Destructron or Psychokinesis. The new field spell is far too good allowing Psychics to Normal Summon twice in one turn and bypass the need to pay LP for their effects. Overdrive Teleporter gives you +2 field advantage and you're more then likely bypassing the LP cost with the field spell or telekinetic charging cell. The 2 monsters it can summon can lock out LS's battle phase by preventing them to attack or lowering their ATK. Furthermore, it gives you Level 6-9 Synchro options. A 3000 beat stick is still a 3000 beat stick and additional Life gain isn't that bad. You set Ryko I may lose Hyper Psychic Gunner but I just dealt you a significant chunk of damage while regaining that life. It really isn't hard for Psychics to recover from that field loss either. I could resurrect that lost monster with my Call of the Haunted-esque Trap Card. They have an incredibly draw engine through Reckless Greeds and Psychic Trigger. They have a level 4 beat stick through borg that can pump itself to 2500 ATK on the turn it's summoned. They have enough RFG cards to make Return from the Different Dimension worth using in the deck giving them explosive OTK potential and believe me it's not hard to set that combo up as I do that very often with my Psychic Deck but it's not even something I need to rely on. Thought Ruler giving you added protection on top of Solemns and Mind Over Matter can put your opponent into a very disadvantageous position as you pretty much negate everything they throw at you. Face it, they have the tools to lock out the battle phase, lock down s/t's, field swarm, field clearing capabilities, etc... they have all the tools necessary to beat down top tier decks but it requires far more skill to use them then top tier decks so don't undermine just because you can't figure out their synergies. I don't get why are we comparing two unrelated sets of cards anyways. They aren't even of the same card types. Anyways, as you can see, LS has just about as much potential as psychic in terms of useful cards, if not more.If we're talking about the future, we'd never know if Konami goes ahead and makes a archetype of psychics, but right now, they're making psychic an exclusive set of monster cards with a theme, there's not even psychic in any archetype yet(I not sure, correct me if I'm wrong)! They seem to be heading that route for Sea-Serpents as well, which I think that it pretty much ignores the point of creating types. They might as well make an archetype out of Sea-Serpents or something if they're heading the low-level swarm thing. >_>Doesn't changes the fact that Lightsworns topped SJCs before and the only psychics to do so are random Krebons/E-Tele splashed into a Dark Deck. So that's concrete evidence LS > Psychic in the past. -----------------------------------------Also, to anyone who have said "My psychic deck can beat LS!" or vice versa, winning a game means nothing. Besides the basic power of the card effects of a deck, acquiring victory in a game requires luck, skill, mind games, techs, etc. With the right cards at the right time, a Toon Deck can beat Lightsworns. -----------------------------------------If psychics beat ls' date=' that must be a terribad ls deck.[/quote'] Can you guarantee every single hand you draw with a LS deck is going to be free of dead draws? Truth is, sometimes your luck just sucks, and the psychics deck may have anti-LS techs in side deck, like LIM.It's not as if a psychic deck is worthless as well. Psychic do have some really nice supports.
C.F.Yuji
JD is powerful enough to clear the field yes, But at the cost of your own cards (Aside from him of course), I remember using Demise a lot before JD and the others came out, When it comes to ability the two are the same, Demise is old so I see why he needed 2000 LP payment and JD requires 1000 while having 3000 ATK, And Demise 2400, Anyway I can see Konami making further support for the Psychic's, I dunno if they'll do much more for the LS IMO. You nuke, swarm and attack for game. There isn't much to it. The fact of the matter is that Psychics are no where near as quick as LS which lets them down significantly. Not only that, Psychics as a whole are not supported as well as LS is. LS is a powerful archetype as a whole and Psychics are not very powerful as a whole. Killey
Can't deny it's a pro of psychics' date=' though DSF can end games real quick if opponent used SJs.[/color'] Most LS decks opted to not go for Synchro options, especially when Plaguespreader Zombie got limited. The chances of the LS player dropping DSF for game is incredibly unlikely. In general most every deck runs Solemn Judgments so the same can be applicable to the psychic user and quite frankly I think Psychics have the advantage when it comes to Synchro speeds. In my experience with my own psychic build I'm synchro summoning 3-5 times if not more per duel. Lyla can clear backrow as well.Celestia is a 1-tribute +2 as well. Lyla only hits 1 back row card while Destructron can hit every backrow card granted at the cost of 1000 LP per card, which may or may not be worth it depending on where you are it in the duel. However, running the field or equip will pretty much make him Harpy's Feather Duster but i understand the weakness of the dependancy of another card to minimize your losses. He's still a good play against people who over commit their backrow with Solemns. You force your opponent to either sac half their LP to keep the other Solemn for something important or lose both reducing their chances of maintaining field presence. No question that Celestia is better between the 2 since it is a 4 card mil and -2 to your opponent whether it be back row or front row. Still doesn't change you fact you lost advantage while the LS player got a three-card mill, since a synchro generally costs two cards to summon. Dumping monsters in the grave for Psychics work to their advantage as they can play off 2 strategies. One is to utilize the draw engine through Psychic Trigger or pumping up Borg then field swarm with Return from the Different Dimension (a common play for me) or set up another field swarm though Telekinetic Power Well. Granted, it's still a blow but something that can be used to Psychics advantage depending on the deck build or at the very least can be minimized through Psychics gameplay mechanics. Solar Recharge is a draw card which helps mill cards. LS can swarm with Luminas and drop Judgment Dragons for OTK, too. In essence Psychics have 6 draw 2 cards that are really just -1 in your hand in comparison to Solar Recharge which is a +0 to your hand a +2 in your grave that relies on a bit of luck that you don't mil something important. Pretty much everything, yes. Except Judgment Dragon, oh well. Not much good JD will do if it's summon gets negated through 1 of 6 Solemn's. I'm not denying LS are worse than Psychics. As mentioned before I feel that LS can take psychics 3-2. All I'm saying is that Psychics are good, real good and have the ability to take on today's meta but require much more skill level. I'm not saying they'll be top tier material as the need to constantly drain your LP for their effects will stop them from getting really far until some godly card is created for them. I just feel like stating that, every Lightsworn monster on the field mills 2-3 cards per turn, LS users simply don't care if if anything important is milled. It can't be prevented.Beckoning Light are there for milled JDs/Honests anyways, milled monster cards are better than monsters in deck.Milling something like monster reborn is similar to not drawing it anyways. It's more like, it relies on a bit of luck to mill something the player WANTS to mill, like Wulf or something."relies on a bit of luck that you don't mil something important." can be applied to every single LS monster there is, it's something the deck does, milling is a positive effect in LS, not a negative one, milling has always been considered a good thing. There's a reason why people prefer Charge of the Light Brigade over Reinforcements of the Army besides having a wider range of searching for the LS deck. It's like saying how people said Arms Holes was bad back then, things like "So what if you can use premature burial 4 times? What if you milled your XXXX?".Also, Garoth and Wulfs gives you free +1s all the time. Pretty much everything' date=' yes. Except Judgment Dragon, oh well.[/color'] Not much good JD will do if it's summon gets negated through 1 of 6 Solemn's. We can go on forever like this:Not much good SJ will do if it gets destroyed by Lylas and Celestias.Sorry, Mind Over Matter your Lyla.I revive Lyla with Glorious Revolution.Destructron destroys your Glorious Revolution!etcetcetcetc. Depends on the situation out there, and the deck out there. No matter what, doesn't change the fact that JD can bypass TRA's negation. Still doesn't change you fact you lost advantage while the LS player got a three-card mill' date=' since a synchro generally costs two cards to summon.[/color'] Dumping monsters in the grave for Psychics work to their advantage as they can play off 2 strategies. Raikoh
unfortunatly Ls suck the deck dry with no way to recover while psychics they have cards that increases big life points just for having them on the field so basically psychic pwns and LS is only a betrayel. whenever i get LS i instantly trade them away for psychics. ^I lol'd at this^ On Topic: LS are very much better than Psychics. Able to swarm the field, have an almost CED-built Dragon in their deck and able to Special Summon without having to pay alot of LP. Psychics on the other hand, do and that hurts them alot. Plus, they kinda suck without Teleport at 3.
White Void
Notice that TC has a link regarding furries, he has a hideously stupid and very noobish "signature card" in his user signature, types like he's about 5 and screams "I'm trying too hard to be goth so people think I'm so different"...why are you guys even arguing this? Lightsworn and Psychic aren't even comparable in the first place, one's an archetype while the other is a type. They don't even play remotely similar and Lightsworn beat most decks just for their speed, Wulf for being an amazing beastick, their own Reinforcement of the Army in Charge of the Light Brigade, and Judgment Dragon who is easily one of the most powerful monsters in the game. Psychics only really do well at synchro imo and even then...the synchros they have aren't that great.
