It helps against cards that prevent targetting like that loser Lightsworn guy and Cyber Phoenix but... that's about it. On the other end of the spectrum, if absolutely have to destroy one thing, you may not always want it to be the strongest monster. Examples of typically low attack monsters you may wish to destroy:KrebonsSpirit ReaperNeo Spacian Grand Mole In short, it takes away options while only granting protection against something that is pretty much a non-threat in this meta anyway.
