[DISC] Toon Goblin Attack Force

Recommended Posts

@tonisanoob: Seriously' date=' dude, I've seen you around here a lot, and I get the feeling everything you say is inspired by a massive stick up your arse.

"but lets be fair if the deck isnt competitive whats the point "

There's plenty point. And it is possible to make ANYTHING competitive. Narrow-minded thinking like that wouldn't get it, I suppose.

Sure, maybe I'm taking this a little personal because I like Toons, and I've been running a Toon deck for nearly three years now. I've not won a tournament, but I've had my share of wins over DAD, Lightsworn, and other Meta decks. Narrow-minded thinkers are what kill this game and force it into the f***ed-up state it currently is in.

OT: This thing makes a bloody good wall for the first turn. 2300 Direct is fun to do, too. Makes a good Tribute for Toon Summoned Skull, too.

Attack, switch to DEF, then Tribute.

must everyone dissagree with me!

there is not much point in playing a competative deck, as winning is the best thing about yugioh! or anything for that matter as the whole point in a game is to win and be good at it :S

otherwise it isnt a game is it!

no its not possible to make ANYTHING competative, that is the complete polar opposate from the truth, you can win tournoments with certain rouge decks like stardust assault ect but thats it, dont you reilise if toons where good they would be getting a mention in shonen jumps, but they dont!

also just because you have beaten a deck with your deck dosnt mean your deck is equally as good! it just means they got a s*** hand or where a terrible player with a good deck, the reason toons fail is because they dont have a win condition, its just simple very slow beatdown

also you have not won a tournoment, i have!(admitadly not untill fairly recently) but ive gotten to the stage where i can actually win them because i run a meta deck and it feels good winning and meta deck ARE fun to play, infact definatly more fun than toons from what i imagine, the novelty of toons would fun out fast as i 2-6 a tournoment

also you say the game is in a state, well yes and no,no to what you mean by it, you say this and yes i think i though the same back in the day, but it basically boils down to you have crap cards and not having a meta deck, therfore complain about losing! all games in mexistance have "meta" strategies the ones tht are designed to win ect so no there is no state of a game and if you ask me this format is also made of win, pretty much no ftk shennanigans but still kind of fast paced and fun

/rant

Okay, so maybe the reasons different people play are different. Granted, I've noticed many people play this game simply to make money. I may not understand this perspective, because I don't end up spending a lot of money to play this game. Most of our cards in our group come from trading, and borrowing from our friends who tend to be Meta players.

Though I don't recall complaining about losing in my post at all. I still stand by the opinion that you can make anything competitive, as long as you put enough thought into it. Also, I stand by the opinion that games are all about how you play, not whether or not you just win against everyone else. I value originality a lot.

I do agree, that every game does seem to have a "Meta" strategy to them, so maybe it is wrong of me to say the game is in a state.

However, rather than continue an argument, I'll just say I can see your points, and though I have different views, it'd be wrong of me to try and force those on you.

My apologies for insulting you.

OT: If you Magic Cylinder a Goblin Attack Force, it stays in Attack Position, since the attack was negated.

NEWSFLASH: Toon Decks suck! =o

On their own, the only Toons that have even have remote uses are Blue-Eyes Toon and Toon Table. Blue-Eyes because he's searchable by Table and Trade-Inable, creating a nice little speed engine, Toon Table because it Deck thins, is nice in Endymion, and can be used to get BETD and Trade-In it off as mentioned before. Other than that, they're a waste of card pool space.

What if your opponent uses Magic Cylinder? You get -2300 AND your monster is in Defense Potion with 0 DEF. So:

What a FAIL.

=/

GTFO.

I still stand by the opinion that you can make anything competitive' date=' as long as you put enough thought into it.[/quote']

you honestly cantmake ANYTHING competative, by competative im assuming you mean teir 2 at least, and no you cannt make bat otk competative.

also i understand how you value origonality, however, you may see it as everyone is playing the same deck, but as you get better you will reilise how vast the differances between some decks really are

By simple coincidence. I decided to make a Toon Deck just yesterday xD

The best idea I could get was to mix it with the Fortune Lady cards I have at hand, and it gets dead draws more often than it should :D

but some ways you can make toons sort of.. work... kinda....

[spoiler=This part is in a Spoiler so you don't have to read crappy combos:]-Toon Mermaid swarming (Inferno Reckless is optional) and quick Tributes.

-Future Visions (if most/all of your Toons are of the kind that selfs Special Summons)

-good old Trade in with BETD and/or Toon Table of Contents.

-If both (Toon World & Future Visions) on the field and you have a lucky hand, Normal Summon Fortune Lady Lighty to search for either Firey, Darky, or Watery (this last one only if you control another Fortune Lady for obious reasons). If the option is Firey, Tribute it for a Toon after Summoned. Watery with Darky can become a Desent Draw engine

(but all that is more for a Fortune Lady Deck than a Toon Deck now lol )

yeah, Toons aren't good in general, you can't put them agains lets say.. BW or LS.

Their 2 main weaknessess are:

1) depend on Toon World

2) only Toon Dark Magician Girl can attack during the Turn it is Summoned.

I used to believe that the ones that weren't dependable in Toon World were better but now I think its the opposite.

But since they are a Sub-Type, they should be reincorporated to the game a little more generally. At least, at the Level that Gemenis will have.

Rrrreally Tony? So, winning is the best thing this game has to offer? Hate to be rude, but pleas GTFO!! Winning truly doesn't mean sh[:x]t in yu-gi-oh. Think about it for a minute, what prick that wins 98% of the time hasn't netdecked to some extent? It takes no skill to win in yugimanz, in-fact this is exactly what it takes: net-deck -> play book -> win a decent amount of the time. Fun decks can win too, but that's not their goal as they're for FUN! I'm pretty sure that Crab is a better guy than you tony.

Are the only sensible skilled yugimanz players here DAZ and Polaris? No offense to anyone else on this forum, by skilled i mean way too good for their own good. Next to that, where do i get the idea that Tony is skilled? I guess it's because he actually knows what he's talking about sometimes.

*hears Zombie Signel* Wha-huh? I'm confused...

OT: That post it mostly right, the point of Yugioh is to have fun, not to win. For some winning is the only fun part, but for most it's just the actual game itself. Plenty of pros will say that they had fun if they lost, the only time losing isn't fun is if you get pwned in the face, not if it's close.

Edit: Unless of course that pwn in the face was just flippen awesome and pulled out of thin air, then it's fun to laugh at luck *thinks of the Failhero deck beating DDT* heh, I bet the DDT guy had fun being pwned by that lucksack.

You give extremely sensible criticism and don't insult everyone right and left that's why i mentioned you. I've looked at your decks too. Nothing shy from EPIC

Getting an accidental OTK or just getting whupped in the first turn id great.

can someone tell me how to post cards that i made

1. You ask in the right place.

2. ???

3. PROFIT!

Edit: Lol@the guy who said that getting OTKed was fun. I am not having fun when I completely control the game with 5-6 cards more than my opponent and then they top deck JD. This is definitely not fun.

ACCIDENTAL OTK and i meant when YOU pull it off. It only counts as an accident when you're deck isn't built around doing what it did.

I meant more that and outside of the commonly used FTK. Back when DSF was around' date=' FTK via DSF were annoying as heck, but being milled in a single turn or burned first turn is hilarious.

That's what i mean. Nothing better than spamming Needle worms, monster gate and a morphing jar.

if winning dosnt mean sheet to you then why play?

yugioh isnt fun unless its competitive as it can be, that way you can trule test your best strategies against other people! plaing for fun is fine, but playing by the meta is more fun that way you can truly see how good at yugioh you are

ykno netdecking isnt a bad thing, plus nobody netdecks card for card they put their own thoughts and strategies into a deck, netdecking isnt bad as people would makelightsworn or monarchs the sam way anyway if they are good and know what cards are good! so its just common sence, also it does take skill to play meta decks no matter what you say i have tried this theory out and it does! also crab is a better guy than me? that was a bit random eh?

also your idea of skilled is very flawed

He's a BETD with less ATK. Pretty nice beatstick. There's nothing wrong with toons. They're just old.

there is plenty wrong with toons!

They have a search card' date=' they can mass Special Summon, and most Toons don't even need Toon World out.

What was wrong with Toons again?

[/quote']

They can't attack the turn they're summoned. :|

Do you know how slow that is? :(
