Riku
So I read the book series for school reports then I looked up information to see when the movie was coming out when Twilight came to the big screen. It read Oct. 2009 and I was happy it was so soon. The book series was known by not too many people but alot at the same time. What do you think about the movie that is coming out?Discuss. Weather Report - Stand
The movie looks TERRIBLE. I should know. After reading the books, I felt crushed at how bad this adaptation looked. Darren's age was boosted to 16 and they smashed in a romance. They're just using that as a ploy to gain support of the fans of the equally if not SLIGHTLY worse Twilight series! I feel poopy. Cin
Film adaptions never are as good as the books, known fact. I might check it out, when it comes to DVD. Cinema costs too much here.

Night
i agree with Omgakitty I read the first two books and i am currently looking for the third (impossible to find!!) but from wat i read there is no romance, hes like 10, there is no evil vampire, and the seal is broken later on in the series. I will still see it and unlike the other 95% of the cirque du freak fans, i wont judge it before i actually see it with my own eyes, how bad could it be? Phantom Roxas
Hollywood always smashes in a romance. To me' date=' that's not that big of a deal as long as it's played out well, unlike in Twilight. I heard that this was a [i']terrible[/i] movie, but that was mainly because it differed from the books beyond words. I haven't read the books, but I was actually a bit interested in seeing this movie. When I learned that it combined the first three books, A Series of Unfortunate Events almost immediately came to mind.

The books were great. But a movie just sounds terribad. I also read the Demonata series by the same author. Looks like the movie biz is trying to steal some money by feeding off of twilights undeserved success.Film adaptions never are as good as the books' date=' known fact. When I learned that it combined the first three books, A Series of Unfortunate Events almost immediately came to mind. Twilight wasn't "smashing in" romance. The romance (albeit, terrible romance) was there to begin with. I'm talking about movies whose plotlines really don't call for romance at all, but Hollywood decides to throw in a pair of tits a lead female role solely for the protagonist to mack with. Sometimes movies that take liberties with books turn out better. For example, Half Blood Prince took quite a turn from the book, but I thought it did many things better than Rowling did herself (I connected more with Snape's motives in the movie than the book). Of course, I've heard a lot of people say HBP was a terrible movie. Not being a huge fan of HP, I guess I can appreciate the creative license the movie took more. Phantom Roxas
I know that Twilight had romance to begin with, I was just using it as an example of how terrible you can make romance. Still, I understand your point. My only problem with HBP was Snape anticlimactically going "Yeah, I'm the Half-Blood Prince" and there's about no explanation about it. There wasn't that much explanation of it in the book either, iirc. I kinda lol'd at it though. It was like salt in the wound for Harry. Hay Harry, I just killed your father figure, oh and btw, that book that's been helping you that you like so much? THAT WAS MY BOOK BISH.
Phantom Roxas
I never read 6 or 7, but don't they at least say that Snape's mother's maiden name was Prince or something along those lines? If it would be so easy to explain, then I don't see why they couldn't explain it. My only hope is that they explain in the one of the Deathly Hallows films.
