Trade-In [DISC]

Recommended Posts

Will this see more play in the meta now that D-Draw and Allure have been Limited? Or will people use things like Hand/Card Destruction or Morphing Jar more? What will people use for draw engines now?

Discuss this and the card in general.

This card already easily saw as much play as either of those two, if not combined. It's the most versatile because archetype is not specific. Many Decks can run this. One of the best draw cards.

Allure see much more play then this. And based on your other comment Allure is archetype specific. What? If a deck runs a handful of darks (and most decks do) you can throw in an Allure. This on the other hand forces you to main deck a lot of level 8 (3 or 4 just to run one). Running more means you need more level 8 which can only lead to bad hands because you have to many.

While this is still a good card your making it out to be much better then it really is.

All I said was that Trade-In is not Archetype specific. I never said Allure was. Also, you say a handful of Darks is enough to run Allure? Not in my experience. Nobody here runs them without a Deck that's almost all Darks because bad hands mean no hand at all with Allure (I've seen a good player pitch a 9-card-hand because luck stiffed him). Beisdes many Decks running Level 8 Monsters want them in the Graveyard anyway (Norleras, Blue-Eyes, etc.).

You compare it to the other two then say that it is more versatile because it isn't archtype specific. Because your previous statement was on the other two it carries to your next statement.

A deck doen't need to be all Dark, it just needs to run a good number, and since most decks do that normally it doesn't need any dedication. Also it's a pro move to use Allure if you have no darks in hand.

Trade-In needs dedication since most decks don't run normally run a lot of level 8. And even if they do it can end to bad ends since you might not be able to do anything with them.

My first statement was an observation, the second an evaluation. I should have separated them into different lines. My bad.

Sometimes you don't have any choice. That guy who lost 9 cards because of no DARK Monsters? He played it because he had NO MONSTERS AT ALL in his hand. 8 Cards including Allure, and no monsters. S**T happens.

Trade-In needs dedication since most decks don't run normally run a lot of level 8. And even if they do it can end to bad ends since you might not be able to do anything with them.

Trade-In requires dedication, yes, but so does Solar Recharge, so does D-Draw. 2 very popular cards. This card can be run by more people than either of these because they're not limited to a text string. As for Allure: it's getting Limited, so its play is soon to take a nosedive due to sheer non-presence in the hand.

And if Trade-In doesn't see much play, why is a Common worth more than a few cents? This card goes for an average of what, $3? That's a lot for a Common.

Or he could have just set some of the cards in his hand. Really, he didn't have to. Plus if he could draw about 1/4 of his deck and draw no monsters that shows something to be wrong with the deck.

Also that is an extreme.

But you forget that, again, level 8s can end up just sitting in your hand. You can at least play the monsters for D-Draw and Recharge. And, again, your over looking that Trade in has the same limiting text string. If you can only run 1 Allure people are still going to run the 1 since you can always use it when you draw it or if not in a turn or two.

Because it's limited to being found in a structure deck and, as far as I know, that deck is out of print.
