"Ancient Gear" [DISC]

Okay i run an Ancient Gear Deck and my fav. 1 is Ancient Gear Engineer

Tbh i think its broken...why well lets see aside from the fact that it has the Norm "Ancient Gear" Effect I.E.:If this card attacks, your opponent cannot activate any Spell or Trap Cards until the end of the Damage Step.

it also kills any trap that targets it and destroys a Spell or Trap card after it attacks

but hey thats just me

so lets DISC. this card and Ancient Gears in general

Need some good support' date=' they're currently generally UP'd. Only Geartown w/ Dragon is viable =s

[/quote']I don't run Dragon hes a waste of space to me mainly cause you have to rely on gadgets to make him good Golem much better


I love AG monsters' date=' but as said they are too weak to be competitive.

 

As for Engineer, I can't count how many times I've mistakenly summoned it without tributing believing that it was Level 4.

Engineer is pathetic. It's a 1500 one-Tribute (0 with Town) that kills a S/T when it battles.

 

As mentioned, the Ancient Gears are bad. Gadjiltron Dragon is actually the best. It's a 3000 with the Ancient Gear clause that actually can be Special Summoned. It's best with Geartown.

 

Although, Ancient Gear Golem is possibly the only monster that "Cannot be Special Summoned" that uh...can be Special Summoned. (Spell Gear, Ancient Gear Ultimate Golem)

agreed though as i said i don't even run him

even though Golem cannot be SS hes still easy to Normal Summon and have better ATK

Dragon has the same ATK as Golem, the only difference is Golem's Piercing.

 

Geartown almost makes Dragon broken, especially in SolidGears, a 3800 beatstick that says 'Skrew you Battle Traps!'. Knight would be awsome if it actually wasn't a gemini, but it acts as the normal monster of the archtype (since a lot of older archtypes had a noprmal monster {Volcanic Rat, and such})

 

Almost every varient of AGs run Town, there's an odd build for ultimate gear that's about milling most of your deck to the grave, either using future fusion and then limiter removal, or just overload fusioning into a chimeritech.

 

wait till this evening, then I'll be on my computer, and I'll post my thread of the guide to AG's.

The problem is that he cannot be special summoned. The only good play that AGs have is Geartown into Dragon.

Or Powerbond into Ultimate Golem, the deck has good drawing speed what with all the lv 8's in it, usually 5, 3xTrade-In, discard 3x AGGD, draw 6, use geartown, get 3000 ATK beatstick that can attack freely.

 

I find that there are 2 good deck types gears can run, Gadjitron Dragon Beatdown (Swarming with gadjtron dragons you discarded for trade-in/Machina fortress?{I don't think they work with forress} and swarming with Machiner's Fortress). The other is Ultimate Golem Smash, which is getting Power Bond and Ultimate Golem's fusion requirements to the hand asap, once UAGG's out 8800 Piercing that can't be mirror forced pretty much wins games.

fill the other cards with chaser, salvo and demise, and you might have a deck :P

 

 

gears are weak because they rely on normal summoning. they cant be as fast as other decks in this meta. they need a few more support cards. maybe a searcher or a rota or something. even then they wont be much better.

 

honestly i'd like to see the meta slowed down to the point where gears are decent again.

fun tech-AG Castle, for a boost and easier golem outgoings, Overload Fusion, for Chimeritechs, or Terraforming for getting Geartown faster.

 

Point-get solidarity out asap, 2100 lv 4 trap resistant soldiers are nice. Not meta, but it owns at lolcals. It's a beatdown deck, but unlike most beatdown decks, this one is not stopped by Mirror Force and D Prison, and has easy to nab Beatsticks. Gearframe is nice to get fortress to the hand and provide protection from Limiter Removal, getting golem out, LR it, and then attacking=victory, but just in case, Gearframe helps preserve it. Beast stops Ryko and Jars, and with geartown, is a Normal Summoned 2000 effect negating beatstick, and you MST your geartown after getting bast out to swing for at least 3000 at minimal.

 

not the AG deck I use, but it's a good base. Tronta I too would love the meta to slow down to a point were gears are great again. And don't they have a once per turn psudo-RotA with that spell card from Machina Mayhem, that SS' a same attribute weaker ATK machine when one is destroyed?

if you think its fail to be able to play and win with A.Gear's competevely then i gess i fail ^^

Their monsters are mostly not that good, and Geartown's their only great s/t card. I can see some merit in Beast, and just about in Golem, but they really don't have what it takes to match up to higher tiered Decks as anything more than a tech'd Geartown engine.
