JD won't get hit. They already lost their top position in the metagame. As long as it stays that way, JD will continue to stay where it's at. I agree that Ryko may hit the list for being a very common monster staple these days.

I said THAT because I used ryko in many builds, SO many builds, and played AGAINST many top builds that use him, MANY top builds.. and I've seen how bad can it become most of the times sometimes .

 

also if you take a look at the decks that topped the recent championships u won't see any of these builds that use Ryko, except for the x sabers maybe

the reason why the top builds right now don't play ryko is because they don't need it. the decks are fast enough and the destroy and mill effect isn't needed. milling cards is not an issue in the game today, if you need to make ure you have a certain card, you play cards that can grab it the way your deck best allows. if your playing mill as your speed engine, you play grave recovery. ryko is a great filler card since it's effect can kill any card on the field, the mill is just a plus in the end. if your deck doesn't have the space for it, or your destruction needs have been covered, you play something else, like lyla, if you need the mill on something stronger.

 

your deck should be made to play the effects you put in it. for example, I want to have crystal abundance fire off faster, so I play ryko to mill my deck so I can use crystal blessing to get more on the field quickly, kill problem cards, and play a few recovery cards like call of the haunted to play them from the grave.

 

milling good spells and traps isn't much of an argument ether, if you need them that badly, you play more of them, and milling limited cards is not as bad as never drawing them, because it is harder to get a card from in your deck than the grave. lightsworn topping for as long as it did is a proof of that just as much as it was proof that JD is broken.

 

and as a final argument, your deck should not be completely dependant on only a few cards to keep control of the game, or you will lose every time. even my fortune lady deck, as dependant on future visions as it is, can run without them completely, I know, I've done it. it's not easy to startup, by far, but it is possible to still win without too much trouble. I actually depend on what I learned to make fortune ladies run without future so my secret village build ( that I can side into) works just as well.

 

and finally, your post gave one point, that doesn't mean I have to write out something like this just to counter it. and I'm likely older than you. so don't call me a kid.

My experience says otherwise and milling stuff you don't want to mill is the chance you take when using it. Of course it can't be used everywhere though. Rarely have I milled cards I would rather have had added to my hand. Also, wasn't this topic about Judgment Dragon?

In the most consistant builds that use ryko (flamvell/synchro cat, dandywarrior) It becomes so bad when ryko mills pots of avarice/ Rekindlings, really cripples the deck, and I've seen that happen alot.

Wouldn't affect the list at all. The list depends on Japan's meta, and they get a different gold series.

 

Unless you meant the fact that JD was in the second OCG Gold Series... But that was ages ago, in Jan, so won't affect the list.

I reckon Konami may actually help LS next format, after what they did to them this format. I reckon either Lumina at 2 or Charge at 2. Infernities and Frogs will get hit, and X-Sabers will not be left untouched. Jay Dee is not actually too broken a card ya know, I went to my local store today and dueled LS, and I got rid of his JD both times.
