Selene bowed. "Edmund is quite older than I am. But that is not the point I am trying to make. You are impatient and very, very dull in many ways. You don't know how to wait, you just barge in and destroy everything. That is what insanity makes you. Yoi spirits actually have mastered their emotions."

She disappeared again to reappear next to Edmund.

"I have controlled Euphoria, thoguh I have to admit it was quite easy to control a happy emotion. Edmund has done an excellent job controlling sorrow. But you? You let Insanity reign over you, you let it control you. You must be the master of your emotion."

She was gone.

"Young and naive ar only opinions. Watch out for the sword behind you." she made it come from the front instead. "Just kidding."

"You're pitiful...you all don't understand how this emotion works...."

"Insanity.....is a state of mind, a certain way your mind perceives things and communicates with others in a way that you couldn't understand."

"As for me being impatient...you have only known me for 2 days...you don't even know my name. Let alone that i am younger than you and still a major challenge for you to overcome. I have very well mastered my emotion. Its my personality that was screwed over by the evil of humans.....do you know...what its like to be beat with a chain? Huh? Oh no you don't die...but you want to. I was abused until the age of seven when i finally chose to end the life of the bastard who called me son. I never had a mother...yet i knew that she was there....she couldn't save me though."

Royces voice became eerie and lifeless.

"You think i like being this way...you think this is what i CHOSE!"

"Edmund knows of sorrow...but not you....you don't know what being in a jail at seven because you had to save your own life from death can do to you.....that place made me who i am...thank your humans.....cops....government and the ****** up system we call JUSTICE."

"I digress though.........you wouldn't ever understand me....so all of my words to you are basically just a waste of breath......shame"

Selene drifted along. "That is life how you perceive it. You can change your emotion; if you follow the correct steps." she drifted away. "My words have no effect on you either, because you choose insanity over happiness. Waruis probably don't even know how to change their emotion..." she lazily flicked another arrow towards the insane spirit.

"You can't ever kill me here...you wouldn't be following spiritual protocol..." she nodded and disappeared again.

"You have a one tract mind....you think everything revolves around this Warui and Yoi ********! Its dosent. Its something much more sinister....something more evil than you could ever imagine growing inside of me...."

Royce appeared as a mist around Selene.

"The dark entity inside of me has to be contained...or you will meet such a evil....more demonic than any other spirit or being you ever fathomed could exist."

he looked deep into the girls eyes.

"i knew ive seen you before.....hmph.......i never knew you could be so.....lost"

"You will probably have a remark for this too....but i dont care. Im merely existing to restrain the darkness growing inside of me...a guardian of evil you might think i am...but im doing a favor for mankind....even though you cant seem to grasp that."

"If it was MY choice...i would be neither Warui or Yoi....i follow no ones rules. Im here to stop the madness....and get redemption for those who suffered a horrible life like me....."

"Vengeance tastes sweet but it really is more detrimental than you know," Selene said smoothly, flitting out of view then reappearing somewhere nearby. "You go on a one track mind as well, all you can think of is revenge. I'm not lost, you are."

With that, she disappeared back into the spirit world and decided that Edmund could take care of the insane Warui by himself. She shook her head and went back to report to her general on the location of the Warui.

"We are not so different, you and I," Edmund replied, turning to face the other spirit. "I have no great desire to be part of this war. Nevertheless, we are the exception, and must do what we must. I have made my choice. What is shall remain to be, until the living change it. Humanity as a race has already become ashamed of acts of the nature that you suffered, and they will overcome it, as far as they can. Revenge is a petty act, which leads to nothing but constant and bitter conflict. Even if you avenge the suffering, by using violence you will merely create more. Humans have many faces, and when one is killed all die. Not everyone hates an evil man, for many will not know he is evil. To those who are not victim to him, he may be a paragon of virtue, and even those who know his crimes may have love for him. There are better ways to save the oppressed, but you let your emotions rule you, blinding you to that."

"You are a slave to your madness, child, and yet you believe you are holding it in check. Maybe you are; I cannot know what is in your mind beyond what you put into words, but I am confident that greater discipline would only aid you in securing whatever darkness lie in your soul. It may be a hard road, and you may not ever fully succeed, but one yard along it is one yard further from losing yourself."

Royce bowed in respect.

'You are very wise dear Edmund....but a bit confused nonetheless....thus i will not use any more word....i will let you find out for yourself what i really am. Good? No...Evil...a little....Madman....no...im something more......hehehe"

Royce vanished leaving a slight chuckle in the air.

"Until the next time we meet Edmund. do bid you farewell."

Selene sensed that Royce had left the scene, so before Edmund could disappear as well she hastened back.

"Edmund," she bowed slightly. "The Yoi spirit of Sorrow. You are very wise, though you are older than me." she smiled, her sense of Euphoria returning with a rush.

She cast her gaze around. Civilians were already starting to recover from the strange happenings, and news reporters were already arriving on the massacre scene.

Edmund banished the staff back into non-existence, and gave a small bow. "Miss Selene. I trust I find you well, although I have yet to see evidence to suggest otherwise would be possible." The older spirit surveyed the scene. "Such carnage," he muttered, "I would have hoped that mankind could have moved on, but it seems as though they have gone backwards." He glanced down at a gun dropped by a wounded man. "If such things were consigned to museums, then the Warui would have but a fraction of the impact they now do." A tear rolled off his face and fell towards the abandoned weapon as he turned away.

Royce walked through the spirit world listening to some song on his headphones.

"I hate people who think they know every damned thing....""Still....Edmund did have a point....unlike that other nuisance Selene...nasty urchin...sheesh."

He stopped and jumped on top of a nearby roof. He looked at the spirit world form of the sun. "....thats weak..."

He laid down while still listnening to the song in his ears.

" i hope those yoi will finally let me have some peace.'

Selene nodded. "It's terrible how much trouble the Warui can wreak with firearms that the mortals have created. I was killed with one myself, and that's actually how many spirits have perished while they were still human." she shook her head sadly, but it was in her nature to be Euphoric, so she kept her tone light. "Did the General assign you to a specific task here? Or are you here of your own accord?" she asked curiously, meaning the Yoi general.

Royce slowly dirfted off to sleep but before doing so he took out his right eye and had it float aroound him to be a survallaince camera while he caught some Zs.

"Goodnite stupid World."

He slowly but surely fell asleep.

He hoped that evereything would be the same when he awoke once again.

"I suppose both," Edmund replied, "I was assigned to move from place to place and keep an eye out for any areas which could be troublesome, however it was my own decision to come to this point at this time. I suppose that my selection may be due to having witnessed the creation of many of our number, and indeed having been a spirit at their birth as a human - oddly, it seems as though there are so many of us because of human firearms. They were around and common enough during my lifetime, but even back then there were not anything like the number of deaths there are today. Perhaps the rapid increase in the numbers of the living is the key factor, but either way those devices cause too much sorrow.

"Nevertheless, I fear I have detained you too long with an old spirit's philosophy, my dear, and I must be moving on. Farewell," he concluded, giving another bow before turning and walking away down anther street,

Selene waved cheerfully to the older spirit, then bowed out of respect. She decided to go looking to see if there were anymore troublesome spots around.

She walked down the streets, and ended up possessing a police officer. She read through the memories and realized that she was possessing the last survivor of te firearm incident.

"Zzzzzzzzzzzzz" Royce was peacefully sleeping when he jerked up from his dream.

He clenched his chest. "Dammit.....this thing is really trying to come on...ack!"

He fell on the ground only being held up by his left arm.

He concentrated on his chest area.

"Bind." The pain stopped and Royce was breathing heavily. "Stupid thing you!"

He punched himself in the gut.

Royce looked at the sky and could tell that an hour passed by.

(okay, now I will be on this consistently)

Tanith snarled. But she had done enough. Many dead. Including the guy she possesed. More terminaly wounded or mentaly scared. 1 survior. She was wounded, but it was only superficial. She had healed. Stupid Yoi. She had to do something about her. But she knew she was strong. So she had to get a form to...

She looked through the window of one of the humans. He was watching a film with phantoms in them. She saw them, then the film tital. "Final Fantasy spirits within, eh?" She looked at the spirit. It was evil. Deadly. Cool. And fesible. But instead of destroying souls, it would find the Yoi. She took its form and phased trough the ground, and locked onto the Yoi's signature. It had possesed the last cop. 'Time to kill her.'

Selene stiffened inside the final survivor's body. There was someone coming.

She ran at a lope now, running down the streets. She would have to get inside a temple and light a circle of fire. So where was the nearest temple?

She knew that they called temples churches. So she ran to the nearest church, which was a spiritual temple inside the spirit realms, and a priest walked up to her.

"Sorry, this is holy grounds. You've gotta put down the gun."

Selene wished, not for the first time, that she could speak while in a body. She shook her head and stepped past the priest.

"Hey! HEY! SIR!" the priest's voice echoed behind her.

Royce decided he would walk through the city again.

"Hmm....i wonder if anything has changed in the last hour."

He walked down the streets lesuirely as he sensed a familiar presence. "Tanith....."

He looked around for where she could be.

"Maybe shes not here...hmmm....whatever."

Royce continued along with his self guided tour of the city.

Asleep in a tree a spirit lies, unfazed as always to the fighting. Shielded from gods watery eyes, hopes not to be hit by the lightning...

"Hmmmm..." Derrick opened his left eye, his mind slowly blurring back to reality. "Dream poetry... kinda corny." Lazily, the spirit of defiance proped himself into a sitting position, back against the trunk of the tree, solid enough to not pass through. Rubbing his eyes, he noticed they felt wet. "Wait... I wasn't crying was I?" He moved his hand away from his face to get a better look at the moisture. Only then did he feel a drop land on his hand. He smiled. "Ahhh, right: God's watery eyes equals rain. I guess that makes sense... Hmmm, I wonder..." Standing up right on the branch, he dispersed his manifested body, the natural left over water that had soaked his temporary form falling straight to the ground now that it had nothing to stick to.

"Cool, I just defied rain. You learn stuff every day when your a spirit I guess. So where am I again?" He looked over to his left. Scattered amidst green grass were tombstones and crosses, all nice and neat and even. "Okay a graveyard... A very boring and symmetrical one but a graveyard." He then shifted his gaze to the right. "And a street. Can't see a street sign from here though. Darn." He then looked forward, the same direction the branch he was on was pointed. A stone wall, black roof with a cross on top looked back at him. "Ah, alright: A church. No wonder I fell asleep. I guess that I... Wait, what is this?" What appeared to be a police officer on the outside, ran into the church apparently in distress. "Well hello there, Mr. 2 souls in one body. Definitely a spirit, but which kind..." Silently observing through the walls D waited, wondering what would happen.

A drumming sound began to come from Edmund's hat, as rain began to fall. Although it gave the sound of bouncing off the spirit, it was in fact passing through him, and only those that could have seen the hat could hear the sound coming off it. It seemed somewhat fitting somehow, the rain, rapidly becoming heavier, on a day when there had been so much death and destruction. Edmund somehow felt at home in the rain; the raindrops mingled with his tears, and it almost felt as though something was lifted from him. He briefly considered taking over a human and feeling the rain, but they might fall ill from it. Still, there had to be some advantages to being alive.

Selene waited in the Church impatiently. Where was the other spirit that was tailing her? She shrugged, then looked around and sharpened her gaze for herself. She saw out the window there was a spirit in a tree? That was definitely not the spirit she was looking for, but...was it Yoi? Or Warui?

She remembered what Royce had said about him being neither...however, he had been CLASSIFIED as a warui. She shrugged, confused, and waited for something to happen.

It took a little, but when he noticed the cop's eyes narrow in on his location, he stood up. "Well, someone has better eyesight than I thought." At first, he thought about running. If the spirit was a Warui, that would mean a pointless fight, one of which he really didn't feel like participating in. But if it was a Yoi, chances are they would ask what his assignment was... and then probably scold him when they realised he'd been napping, and didn't even attend the meeting. After all, he was the spirit of defiance: not like you'd expect him to sit and be ordered around. But as he thought about it, a devious grin appeared on his face. "Well then, yoi or not, I think it's time I had a little fun. And what better way than with a game of cops..." Looking straight into the cops eyes, a smile on his face he "Put his hands up", the grin looking almost malicious, he started to lean back . "And robbers..." He fell through the tree, quickly turning into the grave yard, seeing if she would take the bait. He just hoped the spirit would be a yoi...

Selene put the policeman to sleep on a church bench and floated, free of his body, and back in her own female spirit form. She floated out and saw the spirit again.

"Yoi or Warui? Yoi here." she said quietly, stepping (or...gliding?) forth.

She gazed at the figure sprawled on the floor. "I'm running away from some Warui. And I decided to take refuge in the church...or, the temple in the spiritual realms...to wait the Warui out."

(ran into and hid in graveyard, not on floor.)

After her question, a silence fell over the graveyard, with the spirit still no where in sight. "Oh so you're a girl are you." The sudden voice broke the silence, almost shockingly. From atop a large monument behind her, the punkish looking spirit seemed to have "appeared", still stupidly grinning to see if he had scared her. "Don't worry, I'm definitely not here to fight, so you don't have to get all freaked. As for classification," The spirit jumped down from the monument, landing in front of her. "Well, I personally don't think that really matters. But if you must know, I guess I'd be Yoi." He extended his hand. "Names D. No more, no less, and you would be?"

Royce walked through the city when he felt 2 yoi energies in the church. 'Hmmmm I wonder...."

Royce ran into the church to see Selene.

"Fan F****** Tastic! You like me lady? Because wherever i am...you are!" He sat down in a row and looked her up.

"Hmmm" He looked again.

"Hehehe...not bad." He laughed his luagh and gave a blank stare to the two Yoi.
