So far on my splice...

The only things i have yet to do are add legs and colour the boarders properly.

I've coloured the boarders, now all I gotta do is add legs, for some reason I did the boarders forgetting that I was going to do legs first..

Ye but thats a furry bird, I just cheked a pic of it...What pokemons doesn't have yet is a pteradactyl/terrordactyl which really surprises me. IMO most of the black/white pokemon sprites aren't that good compared to the other regions.

Mah sprite is finiished!!!
I just spent the last 4-5 days making a pokemon sprite of a pteradactyl dinosaur, but I recently decided to make it a flying "ichthyosaur" pokemon. The only part I didn't scratch completely was a bit of the head and the begining of the wing and beginning of the tail, those I got from the Aerodactyl pokemon.
This pokemon I have made, I call it "Shonidactyl" since the biggest ichthyosaur is called "Shonisaur" but this sprite is also a flying pokemon hence the "dactyl" at the end, it is the rival pokemon of Aerodactyl. It lives in the sea but often flies over land to find Aerodactyl to fight, therefore its side fins also serve as wings. I'm really proud how it came out, I would've gave it legs but I decided to change it. Here it is...

I wonder, should it be Water/Dragon type pokemon or Dragon/Flying type?

"Some Guy in a Whambulance" I now have two reasons to say no to your application. You really should understand the rules of the site and read the rules of this club.

Oh also for those who can draw or like to think they can draw, I'm willing to do an art trade. I do a sprite for you, you draw something for me:

Well for the sake of conversation, I guess I have a few questions for anyone who is able to answer.

First off, what's up with people who live by the transparent background. I get that a lot of people just think it looks better, that they don't like the box around their sprites. However I can't help but think they are more of a bother than anything else. One reason is for us MSpaint users who have some reason to copy and paste the sprite into paint, that background isn't read right and becomes that annoying black area around a sprite. Of course that shade of black also matches the shade that people end up using for borders.

Also I can't help but think some people will wind up having a problem where their transparency will make their sprite clash with the background color of the site their on. That's why I like to add colored backgrounds half the time, it makes it so that my sprites shows up best against the background.

So I'm just wondering why the transparent background? Is there something great about it I'm missing?

On a different note, paying for splices? I never got how stores on the site here get away with that. I mean I realize points are worthless,, so no harm in throwing them away. At the same time though, I'm surprised some people are willing to pay points for some of the splicing skill I've seen in some shops in the past. I haven't looked in awhile, so maybe this has changed. Yet it really baffled me why some people would bother with the paying hassle when they could get their splices for free if they just came to me or to others looking for suggestions.

Good point, I just use a white background, why does a sprite need a transparent one? It's just more hassle making it transparent.

Because people like to get a mass ammount of points? dunno.

I cannot draw XD

Also, I see a fault in The bottom arms were just horizontally flipped, imagine how uncomfortable that pokemon would feel all the time...

How do you think a Graveler feels? LOLZ.

I end up with transparent backgrounds because I use Gimp and it's just easier on me when moving parts around or scratching

Meh. True art is about the idea behind it. If people want a commodity that just so happens to be terrible sprites, more power to them

Wow there's awesome sprites here...Hi, I'm the newest member here and here's a bit of my work <Phychu (Pikachu sprite used from Momogril) (Btw, I know shading isn't perfect, but I'll get better VERY soon)
I know the rules say not to just post "I like your sprite" [s], a hinga-dinga-dergen.[/s] But Brandon's Shonidactyl is just awesome, I see no flaws. (Of course I never can identify flaws, but I'll understand and help. Because if I learn I can help, and I try help people every day.

This club isn't restricted to Pokemon sprites at all. Pokemon just happens to be very common.

However basic recoloring is too simple really. You really would have to do stuff that is more advanced than just recoloring to be here.

Also be sure to read the rules, to join you wouldn't even post a sprite here initially.

Thanksyou muchly. Welcome to the club.
Hmm, where do you get your sprites from to splice with? Because the position isn't like the ones I see. Lightsource is at top left, but on the shading of the right foot looks like the light source is top right. Apart from that, nice one.

Usually photobucket. I pick the abnormal one for change. (If I answer a question I don't have to CnC right? Also, how do I recieve notifcations that someone posted in this?)

Answering a question doesn't really count as the CnC or anything. I mean the purpose of my CnC rule is to support us helping each other and make sure people's sprites get some notice and attention.

Oh and just using any random sprite you get off of Photobucket is a big no-no. Using just standard official sprites from Nintendo is Ok. However, if you are going to use fan-made sprites, you need permission and to usually credit the original artist. In the past, people have been banned from the site for what you've done.

Oh, no no. I took the normal sprites exept when you battle them they do something. Like Metapod goes back and forth, some of them roar. That's the kinda thing I used. I will use the normal one however just in case. (So how do I get the notifications?)

The Pikachu you used isn't an official Nintendo sprite though, it's not a frame 2 from any of the games.. You used a Pikachu made by Momogril:

http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixelart/14609.htm

You can't just blindly search for sprites and just take whatever you want.
