Finished Jappio's suggestion

will cnc later

Edit: Ok, CDude. Your splices really don't have much to them. The Charmeleon/Squirtle one was too heavy on the black borders, try using the next shade up on the border colors around the edges of where the main colors transition down a shade.
The Jigglypuff/PIkachu one was interesting, but really there wasn't enough changed for there to be a good assessment of your ability. Try adding more from each pokemon or adding more pokemon.

There are some weird uses with this one. One of the first things I noticed was the weird legs. The round part of the leg where the skinnier part sticks out of, that would probably be higher up on the body, as in Pokemon anatomy those are the hips. So you sort of have those round hips hanging off of different hips.

Raichu and Magmar also feel very nonexistent. Even though I made the request, I forgot they were included. Both have tails you could have made use of, or even color or patterns.

The arms look awkward coming out of those balls, almost dislocated. The feet also look choppily attached to the legs.

Not to try and be rude, but I was sort of surprised when I saw you post this, normally you do a better job. I guess I must have gave you some sucky Pokemon to combine =P

---------------------------------

Here are some new splices I've finally gotten around to finishing up. That Metagross+Salmance+Dialga is a bit of an experiment. Clearly not my normal style, as I really went all out as far as not scratching. Not sure how I feel about it though. It took more time than a splice generally will, and there's just something weird about it.

Naw, I just need to get back in to actual splicing
This was a legitimate splice, rather than the infections or fakemon I've been making in the past. I also think a lack of sleep contributed to it's chopyness. I am probably just going to focus on infections

Perhaps I should have put some thought into my suggestion. Although Victreebel isn't one of the worst sprites to splice with, it isn't easy.
that's true. i used a bit of charizard for the fire on the string, didn't really work.

Hi, new member here.

Prometheus, your splice looks okay except for a couple parts. The mouth looks a bit big and its stomach is kinda awkward looking. However, everything else and the shading look great as far as I can tell.

Also, Cyndaquil + Gastly is kawaii.

Oh, and a new splice. I mixed Ledian with Hitmonchan and Scizor, plus Metagross's blue and silver color.

Im also a new member.
Shradow, i think you chose your pokemon well, they all fit. Only thing i would say is personally i would use scizors colour :lol: thats just the way i work...
I have made 3 splicez so far...
Charillops=--
Cloykunster=--
Stantmeleair=--

For charillops, i used marill for the base and colour scheme....I used kabutops legs for the legs....And charmander's flame for the tail....
For Cloykunster, I used kakuna for the base and colour scheme....I used crobats wings....And look closesly at the spike on the end it is from the end of cloysters horn....
For Stantmeleair, I used Dragonair for the base....I used charmeleon for the tail flame and colour scheme...And i used Stantler for the horns, and the horn bead colour for the beads on the tail and neck....
For all the sprites i use to splice with i use >>>THIS SITE<<<

The parts for Charilops just don't match. It just looks really awkward.
For Cloykunster, the wings could be better blended in, plus the shading is off.
Stantemleair looks really good, though you just need to fix the borders; there's red where there shouldn't be.

New splice, mixed the Chilly, Burnin' Leo, and Plasma Wisp enemy.

Named it Chillin' Leo. Took plenty of ingenuity to come up with that, huh?

Oh wow, a chunk of stuff to do. Well here goes.

Prometheus:

Remember pal, when posting a sprite, be sure to comment on someone else's sprite. I had a nice sheet fill for you choose from =P

As for the sprite, I'd have to say that you could use some work on the head. It's a bit misshaped. The snout seems flat, teeth are crooked, mouth in general has a wobbly shape.

Another issue I have is the fins on the bottom. They don't appear to fit right, specially the one in the back.

The wings appear very tacked on. They probably are too bright or some other form of texture issue I'd have to assume.

Oh and why a transparent background out of curiosity?

Shradow

This splice is very heavily Ledian. Scizor seems all but non existent since the horns and wings aren't very noticeable, and I can only assume the only Hitmonchan parts come from the gloves, which isn't a huge addition thanks to Ledian already having forms of boxing fists.

The shading also could use some work. That light blue on the horns seem just doesn't look right, in both color and where it is. Take a better look at how Scizor does it.

Brandon:

Overall you have a major issue with how even your mixes are. Only having about one or two parts added is rarely enough.

The legs look very metallic, yet Maril still has a smooth, round, and soft body. Major texture difference essentially. Since the legs are so stiff and rigid, it makes the arms also not fit well.

The fire also adds a confusing theme to it. The blue color of the overall splice implies water or ice. The fire implies fire obviously, and the legs implie steel. It's mixed across the board and just comes off as a splice that doesn't know what it wants to be.

I don't even get this one. Are those ears or wings coming form it's head? If they are wings, why from it's head and not along it's back where wings normally should come from? If they are ears, tey clearly are far too big and make this guy too top heavy.

Like your others, this one suffers from a weak mixing.Since you kept Kaukuna's colors, and added only a few things, it just looks like some mutated Kaukuna rather than a splice or new creature.
This one does show your improving, but you still have a long way to go. I can't really tell where you're going with splices anymore. Really I see there being two goals with splicing generally:

1. A mixture of Pokemon. Something that combines the features evenly of everything used. When someone looks at it, they think "Oh wow, it's like Pokemon A and Pokemon B had a baby."

2. A mixture of parts and pieces from various Pokemon to make a new Pokemon. Rather than having parts be immediately recognizable, to have just instead a new creature. Sort of away to make Fakemon but easier. Creating new creatures rather than a combination.

Both paths have their following, yet I'm not sure which you're going for. Right now though it just looks like your making alterations to previous Pokemon. This just looks like a weird fire type Dragonair.

I've been playing Kirby Epic Yarn (One of the utmost delightful and cute games I've every played), so I'm delighted to see some Kirby love in here too. The cold fire fits well one his head actually. However to some people who aren't as familiar with Kirby, they might not recognize that there is a burning Leo mixed in, and just think this guy is a suped up version of the freezy dudes. Hard to hit a middle point with Kirby splicing since the sprites in that game are so simple (and cute).

Oh wow, I just now actually read through your post. Plasma wisp in there?

Oh and guys. I'm thinking of maybe running some form of weekly-esque spriting type thing. Based sort of on this one spriting contest I use to be part of. Essentially every round I choose some theme, and then people post their sprites that fit it and the judge of the round grades them and you get a few points.

I'm just wondering if it might be worth while though. Only about 5 active spriters or so in here, and I don't even know if there are any active spriters outside of our group here. I don't know if I'd want to try to run a contest thing if only like 3 people enter each time.

There's not much Plasma Wisp, just the eyes, the color of the fire, and I also took the color from one of his attack sprites for the gem color on the headband.

And you've been playing Epic Yarn!? I envy you, that game looks so awesome...

And I'd definitely join in on the Sprite of the Week thing (if I could come up with something for said theme), but yeah, we might need more people.
