Maybe instead of 7 votes is the winner, maybe you should have each match last 24 hours or whatever time limit works. Because if you think about it, between YCMer A and YCMer B, YCMer B could get 7 votes, but YCMer A has 8 friends who would vote for him, but they were all offline and couldn't vote until it was too late I understand if you say no for the sake of progression, but I just think it'd give each contender a fairer chance.
