Great Unclean One: VK
The only one here saying dumb things is you man. I didnt say that you said it was a religion. Read it more carefully. The templar knights and the taliban all fall under what i said. Twisted guys that dont follow the religion. They just try and use religions to justify themselves, but by doing that they arent following the religion. So its not religions fault. You cant make me not like you and you're not gonna get a bad reaction out of me. You can say what you want. You dont liek religion because you were not brought up on one. You dont care about others so you dont care about what means alot to people. You feel like people wrong you so you wrong them (something you'll find in satanistic bull crap). Im fully aware of most religions. I've taken the time to figure them out. I've tried to find a flaw in christianity for a long time and i havent found one. If you honestly believe that that crap you posted makes more since then the bible then you dont know the bible. It was the first book ever written man. In a time with no books to invent one would mean they needed alot of information to be documented, and to go so far as to invent it im sore the information was really important. Take your carelessness and hold it in your hand. Look at it. Then reach deep down inside yourself and scrape up your soul off the floor of your temple you call your body, and compare them. Which do you cherish more?
Idiot. As I said, I'm f***ing Buddhist. I was raised in a Buddhist household. Discuss the Taliban and it's feats. How they CLEARLY don't do the s*** they did for freedom and in the name of their religion. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taliban Also, discuss the Templar Knights and their "Holy" Crusades. MarbleZone
Before it starts, should this even hint at becoming a flame thread, it'll be locked immediately and further religion discussion will be forbidden in General. We are starting to have way too many of these, and I'm seriously considering putting a permanent stop to this sort of discussion, that very rarely ends well. So tread carefully on this one. Cin
About the quote: The Bible was supposedly written after the fact, and cannot be taken as word of law. I wish I remember Philosophy. Alot of people use Religion as justification for their actions, even they're not 'pure'. Reminds me of a song I have. The artist's site is down though otherwise I'd post the lyrics, but you can hear it Here

Cin
Religion can play a very big role in some communities, its a way of finding hope in a hopeless situation. If mankind don't fight over religion, they'll find something to fight about. Its human nature.

Sander
All religions look great on paper (lolbible), but in reality, they're not really practical. And this has been bugging me for ages now, why do people start believing in God in those "hopless situations" anyways?`I mean, just of the top off my head, if you're financially troubled, you have to face it that it was your own fault you "believing" in God just so he/she could make it go away is just you being lazy etc. etc.

MarbleZone
What I did was create a single thread for every religious issue people felt like discussing, but for some reason that thread vanished with the overhaul, or some moderator deleted it. As it is, all I can do is keep tabs on the ongoing discussions and lock what gets out of hand. I'm considering forbidding the topic altogether, but I'm trying to be lenient for the moment. J-Max
Religion has always been what a person wants to believe. I could pick up a Pencil and say that it was my savior. I understand that people believe that there is a "God" that will protect them from things but to be honest it's not true. No, i'm not starting a War here. Where was God when I was abused as a Child huh? I was a born Christian but when God would not listen to my Cries fro help, I gave up. I closed my ears to God.
