Once per turn, if your opponent activates a Spell/Trap Card when this card declares an attack, you can negate that card's activation and destroy it. If this face-up card on the field is destroyed by your opponent's card (either by battle or by card effect) and sent to the Graveyard, you can remove from play 1 Polar Star Spirit monster during that turn's End Phase to Special Summon this card from Graveyard. evilfusion Posted October 12, 2010 Report Share Posted October 12, 2010 Same as Thor, I don't know how many Polar Star Spirit Tuners there are to make this worthwhile, but it has a better effect than Thor, even if it's 200 ATK weaker. It can negate cards like Mirror Force, D-Prison, etc, but most players can get around this by focusing not on Loki, but on other monsters, particularly in the case of Mirror Force, or by using Spells or Traps that don't specifically activate when Loki attacks, like Book of Moon. As with most of the Polar Gods, I'm hesitant to think they're worthwhile, due to the specific archetype Tuner and the cost for revival. Loki will recover a Trap from the Graveyard, so it could be easy to build some sort of Trap-centered deck that focuses on overwhelming the opponent with certain Traps and Loki's ATK. evilfusion Posted October 12, 2010 Report Share Posted October 12, 2010 Unfortunately true. Loki's negation timing is very specific. It's during the timing when this declares an attack. Really, unless the Polar Star Beasts/Spirits/whatever Odin uses are good and numerous, these will be for fun decks and nothing else.
