Necrovalley [Newest errata]

Necrovalley
Field Spell Card
All "Gravekeeper's" monsters gain 500 ATK and DEF. Cards in either player's Graveyard cannot be removed from play. Cards in either player's Graveyard cannot be affected by card effects, except for their own effects

Finally, that Rekindling conflict is cleared up :) So, basically, now Necrovalley is awesome. Discuss

that makes cards like monster reborn, gigaplant etc. obselite

Normal summon gigaplant and activate its effect, chain torrential, resolve chains, gigaplant summons itself from grave o.o
I''m also liking the whole colossal fighter can now target itself thing.

(necrovalley makes that comment obselite - lol) yea, because colossal fighter's effect activates in the grave and targets itself

I always felt any ruling that let a card affect other cards in the graveyard despite Necrovalley was complete BS, considering that Necrovalley more or less EXISTED to keep cards in the graveyard. I understand how cards affecting themselves can be exceptions, but the whole "target" vs "not target", for cards that revive/return from grave didn't make any sense.

So wait, lazyness is kicking in, what exactly is the new ruling with cards like Rekindling and Reborn?

+1 rep for first person to explain. :)

When Necrovalley is in play, you can't use them, because they affect cards in the Graveyard, which Necrovalley prevents.

People are more likely to run Kycoo than Necrovalley if they're worried about the Graveyard. Necrovalley can screw you over and doesn't contribute to decks that don't involve Gravekeepers.

Other than Monster Rebord and CotH, how can it really screw you over unless your deck revolves around Grave stuff.

Well, of course it depends on the deck you're running, but I'm just saying that Kycoo is probably superior in terms of grave lockdown, being an 1800 Dark Spellcaster with the benefit of removing your opponent's monsters when it deals battle damage while preventing them from RFGing Grave cards, as opposed to a field spell that otherwise has no benefits aside from searchability.

In terms of anti-meta, I prefer Kycoo to Necrovalley if I don't run Gravekeepers.

:( why would you choose anything else?

Real life scenario:

My field:

Colossal Fighter

Opponent's field:

Goyo and some other strong Synchro I don't recall right now.

No backrows.

I don't think I need to explain.
