- Main Deck: 40 - 60 cards
- Extra Deck: Up to 15 cards
- No Side Deck.
- Each Team allow to use: 1 Restricted card, 2 Semi Restricted card, 3 Non Restricted card, Following the rules from Konami (Hong Kong) Team Tournament [E.G: If your team has 1 member using Giant Trunade, the other 2 members cannot use giant trunade. if your team is using treeborn frog, the total number of treeborn frog in your team's deck must be 3. So you have to think of a way to share among yourselves. This rules applies to all Main Deck, Side Deck and Extra Deck of the Team]
- There are 2 Duelists in a Team.
- Each Duelist has 8000 Life Points, so a team has 16000 Life Points in total.
- The Grand Prix is a 1-on-1 match.
- Each team must set members to the first and second Duelists.
- If one loses, the losing team must replace him/her by the next Duelist.
- The existing Duelist maintains current Life Points while the new Duelist has 8000 Life Points.
- Life Points left from the prior Duelist won't be transferred to the following Duelist.
- If a Duelist stops with some Life Points remaining, e.g. opponent won by special method such as Deck Out, the next Duelist will start with full 8000 Life Points.
- When each Duel ends, the turn at that moment is ended immediately and becomes End Phase. Hence any card that returned during the End Phase, e.g. Stardust Dragon, will still return.
- Any cards remain on the field of the 1st Duelist that lost will remain on the field and pass on to the 2nd Duelist. Cards in the Graveyard, Hand and Remove from Play Zone are reseted and hence are not pass on to the 2nd Duelist.

Tournament Format Explaination:-
AB VS 12

Round 1:
Duelist A (LP: 8000) VS Duelist 1 (LP: 8000)

If let's say Duelist 1 reaches 0 LP, it will straight away enter into End Phase, hence, any card(s) during that activate during the End Phase of Duelist 1's turn (example: Stardust Dragon), will still return back to the field. And cards remaining on the field will be pass on to Duelist 2.

Cards in the Hand and Graveyard and Removed from Play Cards of Duelist 1 are not passed on to Duelist 2.

Duelist A then will battle with Duelist 2.

Duelist A (Remaining LP) VS Duelist 2 (LP: 8000)

The round will start straight away with Duelist 2.

The match will end if all members of a Team loses.

The Winning Team will then move on to the next Stage.[/quote]

So, discuss this kind of duels. They're actually pretty fun, we played it with friends today. We had 30 minutes argument who will use DAD and Allure :P

I rather like this format. However, being able to use one Dark Hole with three players to go through might make things a little sticky. In fact, any generic staple gets tough to use among three people when you have three people to go through. That would be my only complaint.

Side discussion: what decks would be best teamed up for this style of dueling? The Polar Gods, with their new errata, won't be as great as the anime showed them, but being able to revive one last time for your teammate to use might give your team an advantage.

Hmm... the Exodia is an issue. If you have it in hand, you win, next person tags in, they also insta-lose. So, ban Exodia here

Personally, i think Exodia should be banned and the normal pieces unlimited anyway, but let's not get into this discussion.

How about something like this: once a card with an instant win condition activates, that effect can't be used again for the rest of the game. Exodia would just get used once and leave you with 5 relatively useless cards in your hand, Destiny Board will give you the win and leave your S/T zones clogged, Vennominaga gets bloated by 3 Hyper-Venom Counters and only causes one person to lose, etc.

This will make it kinda easy for an Exodia-playing first team player, since the hands don't get passed on, but I think Destiny Board would only work for the last team player, since otherwise all the zones are clogged for all the following team members. Vennominaga, on the other hand, if you're winning with her effect rather than her ATK points, you're doing it wrong.

Team duels are awesomely fun.

Here's how I figure things like Victory Dragon. It's not a MATCH, per se, but 3 successive duelists having one duel total. So Victory Dragon only defeats one duelist, and the duel continues. Exodia and other instant wins should not be allowed by default, but if they are included, then they only activate once, rather than carrying over to the next duel. But it's too easy to abuse Exodia in this fashion, since you could discard a piece and retrieve it and technically reactivate Exodia's condition.

For this reason, you can deliberately drop your LP to 0 using costs, so long as you can pay the full cost with your own life (like Aki did with Wicked Rebirth), but cannot do this if you're the last player.

Now here's a thought for all of you. What happens if you defeat your opponent during THEIR turn? Who gets the next turn?

And here's another one: What happens if you DRAW with someone (Think Crow and Brave). Who gets the first turn of the next players, and how do you fairly decide this? What if the normal turn progression player has a full field and one has nothing?

for the first one i think you would get the next move because it was their turn when they lost so it would go to their end phase. for the second one i'd say it depends on whose turn it was when they drew - (say for instance it was your turn and it ends in a draw, your opponent would still get the next move)

That seems to be the rule for the anime. Isn't Yusei lucky it was Brave's turn when Crow used his Traps?

Although it would have been hilarious...

Brave: Harald's strong.
Crow: So is Yusei.

Harald vs Yusei

Harald: My turn! Polar God Thor and Polar God Loki, direct attacks.
Team 5ds: FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUU...........!

Can you share a side deck? ;D Stick all the staples in there ;D

Anyways, I teach my best friend how to run Machinas!
And find another one... =/

I think the side decks are probably all separate and also follow the rule of the Main Deck. Whatever number the cards are allowed, that number must be shared between Main Deck, Extra Deck, and Side Deck.

But how do you Side Deck for this format? Do you play team matches, or do you just side in and side out before you duel?
